This is to should you how I replaced the clutch on my Kawasaki ER6 I used TRK friction plates TRK steel plates TRK heavy clutch springs Clutch cover gasket
I must replcae the kit on my 650 Versys. Pretty much the same setup as your ER6. Im on 100000km now so I think its about time. I havent replaced a clutch kit since I was in college so thanks for the video.
It should be noted, make sure you soak the new friction plates in oil for a MINIMUN of 12 hours. Preferably 24-28 hours. Before installing them on the bike.
Great rundown mate, could you please let me know the torque settings as I'm struggling to get details online without buying a manual. Cheers mate from Australia
So...no torque settings for clutch bolts? Did you drain the engine oil then refill? I would have thought that new clutch into old oil wasn't a great idea (filings and clutch plate debris etc). You didn't explain about clutch adjustment or if you intended to replace the cable at the same time. I only ask because these are all things I ensure I do when I replace a clutch. Good video..I hope you didn't mind my comments.
This video was exactly what I needed since I went on to replace my clutch cable but being difficult to remove it took the clutch release arm away with it and now I don't know how to reseat it properly since when I pull the clutch lever with the new cable installed nothing happens.Could you please enlighten me on how to reseat the release arm? Edit:Fixed,it was just a case of wrong part number as my clutch cable was for the 2007-2014 Versys and as a result larger, having no tension. The clutch release arm was seated properly but it didn't even budge when I thought I could just rotate it by hand.Clutch works like new now!
Hi thanks for watching hope it helped you So install the cover - pull the clutch arm back (anti clockwise), then rotate it forwards so that it engages behind the end of the pull-rod as the cover is pressed into position You will need to loosen the cover agin or it may not go in
Replaced the clutch plates and springs on a versys 650 '10 (EBC) , no matter what I do- it's hard to shift gears, no neutral after first gear engagement. The freeplay is ok on the lever and near the clutch plate..... EBC springs are 2mm bigger than genuine ones... could this be the cause??
Hi yer it maybe the problem but also the year of the bike as to get bit for mine I order 07 parts even though my bike is 09 I found it out when parts did not fit
Hi mate , I have just replaced clutch in mine er6n 2013 exactly as yours , put everything together and had to adjust clutch cable as it was too loose , had to go max by the clutch lever and also by the engine other wise would able to put into gears any idea why there’s so much gap ? Thanks
Hi they should half and half Check that you have routed the cable the right way and in all cable stops And that your cable maybe too worn out and will a new one that’s not stretched
@@therideout1424 does the pin in the middle should be loosed that you can pull out with the fingers ? The pin inside the basket which engaging the clutch once pressing lever clutch
