So THAT'S what the clutch looks like inside...! LOL! Not a mechanic here... just a tinkerer. But, THANK YOU for showing and explaining what we're looking at. Great video!
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I put three clutches in my zx14r and I never knew some of the tips you shared. You will always be the GOAT to me. Thank you
Thanks for sharing Ricky !! great video The object of a how to video is to get someone (me) who doesn’t understand , clear on the subject matter, and you do very well at that!
great video! clutch just went on my 2011 and I've barely even got my licence, so I'm trying to see what I'm either going to be doing or at least buying the parts for. have an awesome day.
Awesome video, I learned a lot from that one. Would love to see videos of all the things you mentioned. Maybe even simple things like chain tension, or simply adjusting a bike so it's comfortable for the individual rider. I also wouldn't mind learning more about the tuning air:fuel ratio. Thanks for your videos, can't wait for the big race.
I liked what I saw in the video because it was very constructive and easy to understand where you went step by step clearly and I would like to see electric stuff since I almost have zero understanding at that domain. Thanks bro
Great vid! Thanks for the info! Just got done doing a clutch on my "76 Yamaha XS650, was pretty easy! Now, this next month I gotta do the clutch on my "82 Honda CB 650 Nighthawk, it's got those rings in it just like your ZX-14, now I know how they go! Thanks again! God Bless! Stay Healthy!
Great video, thank you. I'll be inspecting and likely replacing mine soon enough. I'd like to see a thermostat replacement. From what the service manual says it's a real pain. I'm guessing you'd have a simpler method.
Man you helped me out alot. I have a 09 Zx14 with 23k on it. I want to do a brocks clutch mod or a lockup. I feel my clutch needs replacing because I bought the bike used and I went through it maintenance wise, but didn't do clutch. Cause I messed up my Suzuki m109R clutch trying to install a aftermarket one with more fibers. Had to take it to a shop. But your video got my confidence back.
I saw your video and checked my Concours 14. The clutch cover is similar and my clutch is worn out. I tour on it so I hadn’t noticed any clutch slippage, but I had noticed that it engaged all the way out at the end of travel. Although there are some differences, your video will be very helpful when I replace it.
I own a z1000 2010. I have new fiber plates to install. This video was absolutely helpful. Maybe a performance mods on a z1000?? That would be a nice update for me at least. Thanks Ricky
This is awesome I’m about to go in for this myself. What are your thoughts on the oil pump plate / pressure relieve valve / gear to increase oil pressure ?
Great video. Could you make one on how to bleed/replace the master cylinder. I understand that in order to know if you have a bad master cylinder, if your clutch isn't having any pressure, is to see if the slave in is leaking. If that one isn't leaking, then you need to bleed/ replace the master. I'd like to know how, please
Great classroom teaching for a new be to the sport of bike drag racing. One question. My bike has been chattering and locking up on launches. I was told to replace my clutch? 30k on original clutch. Is this Correct? According to guys I talked to at track last night? Thank you.
HI RICKY, noticed you put the last fibre plate in the same row as the rest of the plates , but in another youtube video he puts in the next gap, brocks video ,which is right as I have pulled the clutch apart for the oil pump mod , , , can you pull the bottom very low fairing off leaving the side fairing still attached just to get at the clutch , thanks Ronn ,from across the pond in the UK , LOVE THE VIDEOS .
Great work,,, I won't use drill lol,,,,zzr1400 2011? Do brocks have upgrade kit,,,l only seem to find 2012 gens upwards. I'm fitting quickshifter and want clutch done at same time,
Learned quite a bit more! Thanks! Question...l know almost all bikes these days are fuel injected. I have an 04 zzr1200. Well aware this bike is an old dinosaur! Lol! I'm wondering if the factory 1/4 mile times of 10.1-10.2 @130+ can be improved on? I just like the underdog stuff. The only reason I haven't sold it is it's a good solid comfortable bike that can hold it's own.
BONJOUR petite question quelle est la différance niveau embrayage d'avoir changé le système en croix part la rondelle plus épaisse brocks et pour quelle raison
I have a Concours 14 which is similar to the ZX14 and the clutch engagement is very narrow and far from the grip. I only noticed after riding my other bikes with broader engagement. I have a feeling that I will be doing this soon. Do you use the stock friction discs or do you like someone else? My Concours doesn't see the type of use that your ZX14 does. I never thought about looking at the clutch through the oil fill. That is a great idea.
Nice one Rickey, just around the world from Germany to you. My zx14r seems to need some more treatment if I look down to your video :-) Thank you for explaining. If got 206 to the wheel and enjoy this beast more and more. What kind of oil do you recommend for it and what kind of sparc plugs? Have a nice day...
Best sprocket set up for zx14r im wanting to put new front and back sprocket on my 2016 zx14r I have a 12in over evil swingarm but before I put the swingarm on i want to do the sprockets too and I'm a 218lb rider.
Hey Rickey Gadson I’m having clutch problems with my 2000 zx12r. I put heavy duty clutch springs in and about middle of the clutch it had just one flat jetter spring. So I put in the kinda curved one. But now my shifter will not return on its own. I’ve tried taking them out also and it still doesn’t work. Had no problems with it before I messed with the jetter springs.
not sure about steels position ,thought round side in but not sure know?,and thought you were suppose to draw in spring bolts a little at a time not drive in all at once?
Hi Mr Gadson I have a 2015 zx10r and I am putting extension blocks on it so what I would like to know is can you pull the wheel sensor out to reach the wheel or do I need to buy a longer speed sensor cable that will reach the rear wheel or would you do a video on doing that thanks. And I hope you trash chris moore on the 15th shut him up please.
I need all of that! Who does the best flash? My dealer was supposed to had my Ecuador flashed but I’m getting small backfires when I down shift and my alien head 2 full exhaust is turning colors.
good afternoon ricky, you're shooting cool videos, I have a question, I have a zx14 2016,I don't participate in drag races, I ride to my satisfaction, but I have a problem, with dynamic acceleration in 5-6 gear with 8000 rpm, the clutch starts to slip, what could be the problem?please tell me if you have encountered this . Thank you 👍
Thank You Bruh! Hey Ricky I noticed in the video that the last fiber plate installed was in the same notch as like all the others. Does it need to be offset?
Hey Ricky just changed the clutch kit on my 2022 zx14r, iam redlining in every gear. I guess the clutch is slipping? I took off the cover and checked the disc order again and its still giving me the same problem. Any ideas please brother?
Check your stack height again. Look at my video in clutch install on TH-cam to see how to check it visually. Sound like stack height is off or you turned one of the last fibers and it won’t let the clutch seat.
@@rickeygadson6095 Hi Ricky! I think the other guy may be looking at the parts diagram which shows it first with the skinny fiber. I just took mine out and that was how it was as well. Brocks viep shows the washer coming out last as well. Your way makes more sense to me but I am not for sure how the jutter spring works.
So THAT'S what the clutch looks like inside...! LOL! Not a mechanic here... just a tinkerer. But, THANK YOU for showing and explaining what we're looking at. Great video!
I didn’t know you had your own channel and kudos for still getting your hands dirty at your level!
Thanks bro
One of the best clutch videos on TH-cam by far
Thanks for your time

Love the tips n tricks. Very helpful in knowing that you can open the oil fill port and see the wear progression! Excellent content!
Just bought a ZX14 last night and this video was just what I was looking for. Thanks for making it. You're very awesome.
Yes, Ricky seems to be very helpful. I need to put a crutch on my ZG 14 Concours Thanks.
We want to watch whatever you want to put up, it's always good to see what you up to.

Thanks Rickey! I would of loved to see you show how to adjust the hydro clutch/lever so you have the proper free play and proper disengagement

Thank You Rickey, for this info and details. Regards JB

How long till the race day

dommage on a pas de réponse a not questions
you didn't offset the last fibre!
Ricky why you tell the people to run the clutch like that you.know the rings go first look at the factory schematic
Cause that’s how I run mine.
And the rings Do NOT go in first. The rings go in 3rd after the small fiber which is 2nd fiber to go in.
It may work for you but the manual says rings first sorry didn't mean to offend.
I’m not sure what manual your looking at but rings never go in first. A fiber always goes in first.
