SauraE, I agree! Jose sang beautifully that night in Rome, now fully 19 yrs ago. He also did a great job with the Chenier. Now, there are only two left. Bless them all these 3 tenors. That concert began for me my love of opera. Years later I had the great experience, while in Italy, of standing on that stage in Rome and singing for my friends. The place was open to the public and we just walked in. Unforgettable.
The best I've heard so far.... even his own back in the 70's. Probably the difference strives at the feeling.... look at the n'grato at 2:34... he's really telling this damn Catari how dreadful she's been!!! And the end, compare it to the others, even Domingo or Pavarotti (who seem to sing effortlessly compared to Carreras), still better!

Technically flawless. Artisticaly sublime. The lows and highs were practically perfect.
Me emociona!!!!!
I love Zubin Mehta's reaction at the end amazing performance
this is the best rendition

Perfecto!
Beautiful singing. So close to the hearth. Thanks Carreras
Hearing Carreras' magnificent voice, his passion and fire are a bitter and sweet experience for me - this is a young Carreras almost 30 years ago!!!
Marvelous, amazing, so wonderful.... THANK YOU!
Semplicemente bravo. Bravo.
The best the best the best!!!!
Best rendition in history. Love.
Wow!!!!! He owns this one!!! And that is saying something when you listen to Caruso and Pavarotti's versions
Yes he does own this one. I have listened to all the others too and they don't measure up.

Happy B'day to this powerful performer. and Thanks for the video
I particularly like this piece. But what a courage all three had to do this - it gave a lot of pleasure.
Master, absolutely amazing
Esecuzione magistrale...canta c'o core napulitano!
I particularly like this piece. But what a courage all three had to do this - it gave a lot of pleasure. I remember it well!

no no no, the title is "core n'grato", with only one "t", please, can you to correct the title?
somiglia a marco travaglio .....
薄情
''Core 'ngrato''...no core ngratto!!! f..k.
No me gusta nada Carreras.
Canta divino
El agudo final no es un agudo. Es un grito. No canta bien.
