Hi Joe! Great video as always. I am just finishing up the fiberglass work on my boat and then will be starting the re wiring from scratch with lots of equipment going in. I still have no clue what I am doing haha but your videos are helping a lot.

    Hey Joe,
Thankyou for your videos, especially the 25HP mercury ones.
    I have a question regarding charging a battery via the 25HP .
Can the mercury do this using the following:
    The major components needed are:
Generator coil(s) that create electrical current (unregulated AC) from the motor’s rotation
Regulator/rectifier to convert the coil output into regulated DC current suitable for charging the battery

Hi Antonio Alessi, thanks for watching, My 25HP mercury outboard charges my batteries. My outboard has all the component necessary to do so. Mercury 25HP outboard usually have the equipment to do so.

you look like a pro ! I'm curious about the correct mode to charge my battery with both a Nautilus Group 31 battery from Canadian Tire and a Nexpeak NC 101 battery charger can you help me ? should i use car/truck mode agm/gel mod or motocycle mod

Hi FXQC, thanks for watching and nice comments,
AGM means Absorbent Glass Mat lead-acid battery,
Gel means Gel-Cell lead-acid battery, or simply gel battery.
I would set it in AGM/gel if its a deep cycle battery.

Great! But, don't you need a carbon pile load tester for 15 seconds with deep cycle batteries?

Hi olpreach, thanks for watching, This load tester is compatible with deep cycle batteries, and it can check the cells operating at 6 to 12 volts with 1000 CCA. The tester will display the battery condition within 10 seconds. The needle should remain in the green area. If it doesn’t, the battery is weak or bad.

Do you ever run a dual purpose battery?

Hi redwood1957, yes my other deep cycle battery is a dual purpose battery. Works well but my outboard doesn’t ask for much power to start.
