OH MY GAWDDDDD!! This video just solved a 2 year problem I was having. You have taught me the importance of cleansing my data before I begin anything. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!
thanks for explaining the difference between duplicates and reference. I had that question in my mind all the time but u gave me answer with perfect explanation... Worth to watch ... GBU
This sounds like another one of those that's not been rolled out to everyone yet. It's so hard to keep track of that stuff. It's also disappointing to share and then find out there's a version of Excel that still doesn't have a certain feature.
Sir, excellent video. I need to do something slightly different and hoping you can point me toward a video of yours that helps. How would I apply an existing Query to a new table (perhaps in a different workbook or just a different sheet) without having the datasets as one larger (messy) table as you had? I have tried "New Source" but it's not giving me the option to pick within my current workbook. Also, how can you apply the query if the new table is slightly different? Essentially I have an export of data and is routinely updated but sometimes new columns are added or changed (maybe 75% of the dataset remains the same re headers) and I want to use Power Query to avoid having to reclean that dataset every time. I'm really struggling with "changing source" though especially with the minor differences in datasets.
Thank you oz for precious informations Regarding the memory size, for a laptop with Intel Core I7 6TH Generation , 16GB of RAM and 1TB of capacity, is it enough to work with a big data on PowerPivot and PowerQuery?
Here's where you can see the specifications support.office.com/en-us/article/Power-Query-specifications-and-limits-5FB2807C-1B16-4257-AA5B-6793F051A9F4?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US&fromAR=1
Hi Oz, Great video! Just an observation. Towards the end when you tried to update the table with new data, I don't think it picked up the "Bass" info. Only info related to "Drums" got added to the table. Nevertheless enjoyed your video and learnt something new!
DAMN! 😧 Thanks for pointing that out. I just downloaded the workbook and it's working. I don't know what I missed in the video. That's spooky. I may need to cover this again,
He was on there. I'll clear out my desk and check my glasses. His performance of Purple Rain/Beautifully Broken with Gov't Mule on the Deepest End was one of my favorite music moments of all time.
Your comment helped me see that there's an error. The new data wasn't set up properly. But I corrected it in the downloadable workbook. Thanks for jumping in! I didn't know George did a version of Purple Rain. I'll have to find it and give a listen.
What if we have one Workbook and Multiple Sheets have different table with different headers some header are same and some header are different by Name not by Nature (E.g Name in One sheet Table and Employee Name in second sheet or Code in one sheet and ID in other sheet) Merge Not to be used because volume of data around 200 to 300 sheet or table
The music and effects are amazing!!! The music was like academy award winning!!! And then there was the Excel winning reference to stay connected!!!!
Thanks, Mike!
Maybe we need an Excel Grammy Awards.
You gotta clean sweep at that award banquet!!!

You are SOOOOOO welcome!
What's the problem you've been having for 2 years?
Wizard De Excel! Folks are sleeping on power query, this gems should of gotten 1million views!
I agree. Too many folks are sleeping HARD on Power Query.
Let's continue to spread the word and wake folks up!
entertaining teaching on the sometimes confusing reference vs duplicate query issue
Thank you!
Well done, I was lost until the very end with where this was going, the it came together.
Very nice. That's good feedback.

Diego! THANK YOU! 🙏
Thanks for the video. Is this feature available in the add-in version? I downloaded the latest power query add-in but don't see these options.

No love for Mr. George Porter Jr? lol. Another great one friend.
I missed George Porter Jr??
I know he was part of my prep. Maybe he got clipped when I decided it was time to record and stop planning. :)
