Ah finally eventually Morris will be seen as a great contributor to 80's funk and it's right here. Go back and listen to Prince 81-84, you'll hear him I believe uncredited on Let's Work, Irresistible Bitch, Cool, and others. So happy this brother survived to receive his flowers
Yes!!! Morris was a drummer before Prince made him lead singer/frontman for the Time. Morris also played drums on many of those early Time recordings like Get It Up, Cool, Girl, The Stick, Wild n Loose, Jungle Love, My Drawers, etc. Ain't nobody bad like he...#respect
Prince played drums on "Get it up" , and "Ice cream castles' songs. "Jungle love" was a drum machine. You are correct about MO D playing on everything else. Mo D played drums on part of "Let's work" and "Controversy " the song

@@n.oneimportant5 There are two drums on IB. The Linn (which is Prince) and the punch-in from Tricky, which is Morris. The punch-in from Tricky (edit) to Linn can be heard within the first few seconds of IB; you can hear it real good on 1999 (remastered). Prince licks are behind the beat (nice way of saying a little behind a normal downbeat) while Morris is right on the downbeat.
Morris' first uncredited appearance on a Prince album was Let's Work, which has since been corrected in the records. Thank you for this! I knew he started off as the drummer, but I never saw him play before! Brought a smile to my face to finally see!
Check out Lady Cab Driver and Irresistible if you like to see more of his finger prints.
Jimmy Jam and Prince said Morris was a badass on drums. Nuff said!!!!
Go listen to Lady Cab Driver and you'll start to understand... Morris was a key element to Prince's most commercial album.
He even does the simple act of hitting the crash cymbals with unmatchable sass
Did anyone hear the beat for Tambourine towards the end?
Morris is just too funky!!!
i LOVED IT!!! Go ahead boy, wit' your BAD SELF! OUTSTANDING!
I Remember when Morris Played the Drums!!He Really sounds Great!!!!❤
Such a good drummer - his tone, technique, feel -- always knew when Morris was on drums. the "pop" of his snare and his fills.
Speaking of which ... I heard he played drums on Pop Life.

Some don't feel if you're not busy you're not playing. Mature musicians keep it simple. And the audience feels it
Go Morris. 🥁🥁💜💜
good drummer Mr.Day, n´est-ce pas ?
That made me wanna stand up and clap as loud as I can.. too funky... He's still got it...
GO MORRIS DAY!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Morris day will always be one of the best entertainers if not the best of all time
He is soo good and love texture, depth in his technique! 🥁🥁🥁🥁
That "Irresistible Bitch" groove... Morris us tha man
I noticed that and was looking for a comment to confirm. Thanks. Is Morris on the actual recording of Irresistible B*tch on drums?

I bet replayed drums on Head!
Yes! Sounds a bit like Cloreen Bacon Skin! 🥁🥁🥁
yeeesss- but it´s actually some Chocolate....listen 2 the last few seconds (background) & then check this 1: th-cam.com/video/gpW9kj4qpf8/w-d-xo.html
but Ur right: we also could name this: Cloreen´s Brotha Alfred´s Choco Bacon 🎃
And Cloreen Bacon Skin sounds like Irresistible Bitch, probably because Morris drummed on that too.
Morris's
style is
straight forward
and
aggressive,
jus like
his
persona

What time is it?
yeees- this is a track from Pandemonium I guess- listen 2 the last few seconds....but I´m gonna find it out !!

Morris was the drummer in the band until prince put him in the frontline💜
Yeah, Alexander O' Neal was supposed to be the front-man originally.
Was was a drummer first
Tricky
Didn't Prince edit the bass and drums from Tricky and use them for the originally released version of Irresistible Bitch?
Yeah this sounds like Irresistible Bitch
Prince played drums on "Irresistible," but he basically replayed the same beat Morris played on "Tricky" and "Baconskin."
