- Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates - across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect. This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

I baffles my mind on how people if that's what you want to call them thinking it's okay to keep a chimpanzee in a cage smaller than an apartment size bathroom. Inhumane and it angers and breaks my heart all at the same time. Bless all who help save all the illegally kept animals.🙏🙏
Poor Oshine, in the blink of an eye her life is turned upside down. She can no longer roam freely in the home she grew up in, she’s surrounded by strange people and creatures, and she can no longer eat her cakes and pastries she loved so much. She has no idea why she is suddenly confined in an unfamiliar place. Just goes to show you that these beings do not belong in captivity, no matter how much love and care one thinks they are giving her.
It reminds me of Kanzi, a captive Bonobo used for language research in Atlanta i believe… he’s seemingly treated well in a comfortable environment, albeit in captivity, but who also became morbidly obese throughout the duration of his care. It’s abuse that these animals have endured. That’s why I feel that Monkey World is a Godsend. Even though the park is open to spectators for financial reasons, they have such a wonderful sanctuary and give captive animals the highest standards of care. God bless those folks, their efforts have helped the lives of so many animals in need.
I felt sorry for Oshine too. They have a child like intelligence and most definitely grieved the loss of her "mother".

I would be very happy for Oshine at this point in her life. Being trapped in that artificial environment, where she was treated as a spoiled child was making her unhappy. Anyone knows, who've had kids, that spoiled children are often miserable. She didn't belong, no matter how many treats were lavished on her. It was an extremely unhealthy environment both physically and mentally. When great apes reach puberty, not all the human interaction and affection in the world, can keep them satisfied and safe to be around people. As so many people have tragically discovered. This move to Monkey World literally saved her life.
Always one in a group. LuLu is the buttof the group ! Jeremy has the best job in the world! He loves them all and the animals love and respects him! This is just like running a nursery school & daycare. Jeremy runs the show! He has so many patience and he can really climb. We love you guys and Thank You for your letting these animals live out their retirement in peace & harmony ! Oh my just like kids screaming when they don't like something !
Sometimes I can’t get enough of Oshine, she’s just too much 😆.

I’m loving these episodes. Fascinating how complex these primates lives are. Much love to all the folks involved in rescue care and their time is given to make these animals lives full filled in captivity. Gods work.
The way Trudy told on Simon and literally dragged Henanya over to tell him off was the best thing I've seen in season 5. 😂
I love how Mikado comes down from his climb to reach out to Mike - like he needs assurance he’s still there. 💜

I so enjoyed this video the second time around because I noticed the sweetness of the reactions (well, maybe except Jonathan) of the macaques as well as Mikado and Alex. I am always learning from all of the MW residents; and they bring me smiles and joy.
I watch Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) and their Orangutan Jungle School too. Absolutely amazing. They show orphan orangs how to survive and thrive in the wild. And you will never see anything cuter than a bus full of toddler orangutans going to school and their fabulous nursery or, indeed, a wheelbarrow full of sweet baby orangutans. They’re my favourite. I wonder how Alison and Jeremy feel about that school??

I laughed so hard as the camera shows her angry looking obese body with an equally angry looking face followed by them saying she doesn’t think much of Gordon either lol .

Terrific episode, the Stumpies could do a franchise of their own like The Housewives of Monkey World. They are quite a handful and Jeremy is so good with all of them. Was great fun to see Oshean out and such a prissy diva she is. Love her! And a shout out to Trudy, you go girl and so happy she is doing so well. Thank you all for the love and care you give to all the primates day in and day out. Just a special group you are.

I just love Mike, the primate care taker. He has such a deep respect for the animals. The monkeys are just naturally drawn to him it seems.

It's awesome to see they have Trudy on the right track again. She seems so sweet n it's never good to see an animal not n it's right form. N I love Jeremy he's so good with any of the primates he comes n contact with whether it be chimp or orange or any of the others. Best episode by far!!! Trudy sure was pissed huh? I didn't think a female could literally sick the alpha on another like a dog but she did...by his wrist. The narrator said it best about the Stumpy's "With Johnathan outta the way the boys had all the putrid female monkey butt a boy could dream off"...or something like that. And my hats off to the gentleman who hand raised the baby Gibbon

Keep up the blessed work you all do. Great episode. Thanks to you all . I know it must be very demanding day in and day out but yet you all step up to challenges of helping,saving and caring for all these beautiful animals whom most were dealt really bad hand's for there lives , but with all you do they look to be as healthy as possible and happy. And it also show's just how forgiving these precious animals are as well, it shows so much by how much they trust and feel safe with you all. Truly bless you all

I just had to pause right now (at 9:58) because watching the boy and girl Stumpies meeting for the first time got me too teary.
Then I un-paused and now they're all getting it on so now I'm laughing, but it's actually really a beautiful thing to know that even after all they've been through, they are still naturally the beautifully ugly animals they are. I loved this episode! (I love them all, but this one hit me a few times pretty good).

Ja,sie sind wirklich keine Schönheiten, aber haben ein sanftes Gemüt.als Baby sind sie aber sehr süß, und genau aus diesem Grund werden die Babys immer wieder gewildert und als Haustiere verkauft.sie werden den Müttern entrissen um dann Geld zu bringen für die,, Neuen Mütter,, !! Ich hasse es wenn ich jeden Tag sehe das es wieder neue Kanäle mit neuen Affen gibt und die meisten sind Bärmakaken. Ich wünschte die Regierung in Vietnam and Cambodia greifen mal richtig durch. Einige wurden schon konfisziert. Aber es gibt eine große Anzahl die garnicht erst hier auftauchen. Affen gehören in die Wildnis und nicht in ein Haus mit Menschen.

I have been more concerned about Oshine hurting a youngster rather than her acceptance. Her size and having been given her way in everything all her lie, I was afraid she'd attack one and no one able to get her off them. But I was also concerned that if she ever hurt a little one, A-may may attack her or cause other orangutans to do so.

I love all the monkeys but I love Allison too she just so great smooth things and I love Jeremy cuz he's a freaking he just he just seems like a maniac who's just trying to just say the right things and do the do things just just on this side of chill but he just reminds me of a Maniac who just tries to not go too far over on things but it's still kind of a Maniac and I like him he's great I love all the monkeys and chips and everything orangutans are much smarter tougher and more opinionated than I thought they would be LOL

The stumpies that live free in the wild are no where near as ugly as these guys are… I think the life they led in the labs really did a number on them… I am thankful that they were given A second chance to live a better life outside of that horrible laboratory…

What those stumpies need are a few babies… babies are the peace keepers of stumpies… as old as these females are, if one of them were able to still bear children, I think there would be some big cha Gee in the dynamics of the group… I know these episodes are very old… so, I doubt that ever happened…

They had their chance there when he opened that cage they could have jumped him in the cameraman and had a little escape,,, I don't understand,, they can't be 97% of our DNA if they can't successfully plan and attack and then escape,,,

Oh man I just love these orangutans just hate on each other and you know and it's no surprise cuz in the wild they are all especially the males but all of them every female they are on their own they genetically just like being around each other under the only primates they do that and yet when they stick them together I mean it's like people in a prison and I've been in prison for two years before and you hate being locked up and you're being locked up alone for a long time so it's nice to be around somebody sometimes but at times you just like you want to kill the other person but you don't want to get any more time so you don't and you try to be civil and you try to be decent and of course this prison so the other people don't have the best manners in the other is it is so it's just it's difficult and there's times where you understand these rankings big time but you have o s h i n e she's been alone but she don't see these orangutans as people she don't want nothing to do with them they got nothing for her they can't give her food all the other humans have the possibility to give her food so she puts up with the humans but those things have no food for hers so she was nothing to do with them it is just crazy

They act differently in captivity. But since she's been only around humans for 12 years that's why it's hard.
There's a show called orangutan jungle school you should watch that. There's large groups of them who all live together

What’s the difference in you keeping them in a cage and the owners keeping them in a cage? I understand that some of them were kept in a cage much too small but what about the marmosets? Shouldn’t you have told them how to correct the”problem” before you just steal them? That’s wrong
