Family in the Springs…stayed for three weeks with the decision to move there. Colorado is beautiful, but I didn’t like being landlocked. Went back to living along the water.

I lived in the Springs for 5 years, it was great, but I was military and groceries were a better price on base. Gas, same thing. We also got reduced price ski passes and rentals. I had my own.
    This was 1989-1994.

Denver Airport hack… rent a car from CS for ~$60, Drive to the airport, refuel, and drop it off. Then take the rental car bus directly to the airport. Easy as can be, never pay for the parking lot again.
Also when I fly out of the CS Airport, I take Ubers each way for $20-$30.

Colorado Springs has all the crime of a big city without any of the big city appeal. Colorado Springs has endless sprawl with poorly constructed cookie cutter homes packed into HOA's with only the developers maximum return on his dollar in mind. Roads suck so bad you need a copilot just to avoid hitting the worst of it. You will be driving through moonscape of potholes. If you enjoy a quality of life and being around like minded people you will not enjoy Colorado Springs. People here are rude as hell. Everyone here is out for themselves and could care less about you. Grocery stores here do not have fresh produce. The expensive fruits and vegetables will go bad the day after you purchase them. Colorado Springs is the last stop for produce getting all the leftovers. It ain't getting better, it's only getting worse.
