4:48 Woah! Sparks, my favorite! Great work!❤❤❤
Thanks 👍
Agreed👍
Love the old abandoned fuel oil tank and the cast iron radiator stuck behind the wall.
Corn for Ratty!
One would think they'd haul the old oil tank out of there to make room for more junk, LOL
Lol, 🌽 🐀 👍
Always love the debris analysis Donnie 👌.
Great job, thanks for sharing.
Thanks John 👍
Me and my 4 year old son are big Drain Addict fans. Just recently started watching your videos and im sure ill eventually watch them all like Ollie's videos. My son calls your snake "Chompy" and it makes me laugh every time he says it. 👍
Lol, that's awesome! I'm glad you and your family enjoy. Thanks for your support 🙏 🙌 👍 😊
Good news that you could relieve the back pressure and avoid an explosion.
😉👍
Great video Donald. Sad to see that there is still remnants of damage from Sandy around. I guess where I am we still have things that never made it back after Katrina.
Yes, it is. Thanks, Amy 😉👍
That were very tough seized up caps, but you got the job done. Excellent. Happy 2024.
🥳😉👍
You were surgical with that grinder Donald. Great job!
Thanks again 🫡
After I successfully plunge one of my big, hard, man logs, I always say, “we got it!” 👍🏼
😆
Wow those drain caps did not want to come off, I can only imagine how long they've been on there. Thank you Donald another excellent unclogging. 🗽🍎🐀🌽💧🙏
Glad you enjoyed it Kimberly 😊
When people finish basements they never have to forethought to leave an access panel or door to the trap.
🤷♂️
Another great video Donald hopefully you had a great christmas and a great new year
Sure did Jason, thanks again 👍
He is BACK EVERYONE! Another great video!!! Good job!
Thanks 👍
spray, sparks, and a nice clean entry.
Yes indeed!
I guess you can imagine why I would have done it a bit differently...But you got it done... Have a nice one Donald, till next time bro🤗
Same to you Carsten 👍
Those caps looked like the toughest ones that I can remember you having. Thanks Donald.
They sure were a pain Ken 😉👍
Hard job, some things do cost more" 😅. Have a good week Donald!
Lol, same to you David 👍
Wallop what a job Donald, looked like they had been there since the building construction!. Good job with the angle grinder, great video ..
might a spanner been faster ?
Thanks Peter 💪 😎 👍
You have to wonder with how solid those caps were on if it wasn't just from Sandy but Also Hurricane Irene the year before in 2011. That did SOOOOO much crazy flooding from NC to Maine and that wrecked the Hudson Valley and into here in Albany. I know NYC got hammered during that storm too so this basement like so many others took a beating and likely flooded from both hurricanes so I can imagine the water sitting or just the air in that basement potentially rusting the caps on even more to have to take the measures you did.
hehe this was another lucky trap clog as that saved the basement from being a indoor poop pool but that trap had all sorts of goodies in it when you went fishing.
Most likely 😉👍
GREAT job! That one on the left where the soap scum built up was pretty bad...stubborn cap on the right one, lol.
Lol, thanks Bev 👍
there was likely only a few inches of water from "Sandy", but it wicks up the drywall paper faces multiple feet, especially if it's wet for hours(or longer), also evaporation and condensation makes it spread very fast, meaning the whole house becomes an moist wet dripping jungle climate in warm weather or a freezing up and water condensing climate in winter.
it's never a good outcome when flooding occurs, natural disaster or man caused by a leak or spillage. the time clock starts from the second it gets wet until you get it open, water removed and ventilated to extract moisture as fast as possible. (that mean remove carpet, padding, bottom of wall coverings, insulation, all belongings, etc.
I'm sure it was, but Sandy did drop a load! That's why I averaged do high 😉
"all the walls have been removed"....yeah...except the one wall that would make the job so much easier :-D
🤣
Good morning Donald another great job as usual 🙏 love these videos keep them coming and have a bless day 😊
Good morning Deborah, thanks. Sametime you! 🙏👍
Good evening to you sir Donald.
Good evening A.s 🙏
I can't believe you'd ruin 2 perfectly good caps & cut a hole in a perfectly good piece of drywall!! 😂Hoping all is well Donald, Dirty Jersey out!!
i was thinking he might have tried the vent pipe as it was already OPEN
😆 same to you Mike 😉👍
For my, as Vienna Girl, Your House building a Nightmare , all Partition Wall Pasteboard. 😱 But You make always a very good work. Thanks. 👌 Greeting from Austria
Thank you! 😊
You had a rough day like Ollie. You could use a magnet on a stick to get broken cap pieces.
Yeah, but they're cast iron pipes so, I think my hand would do a better job without get stuck to the pipes 🤔😉
@@NYDRAINS you’re right about that I didn’t think about the cast iron pipe sorry about that.
@Carcrafter7165 no worries 👍
Great job done Donald, when they build new properties do they still use that sort of main traps 🤔
Yes Taylor, it's code in NYC 🤷♂️
Good job Donald
Thanks K 👍
Good job
Thanks 👍
looks like the minions with the holes.
Lol
Im curious to know if an impact gun with a socket would be able to losen up those caps. Id be worried about the possible pipe damage but im not sure its really any worse then attacking it with a hammer in the nicest possible respect. Needs must!
50/50 because it's a two part cap, and the outer seal might stick the the treads/pipes and the inner cap might just spin 🤔 😉
@@NYDRAINS Ah ok apologies I didnt realise that it was a 2 part cap.
@tobyprior3198 no worries 😉👍
It's time to add a 1970s armored cap remover to your toolbox.
😆
Like breaking into a safe 😅
💪😉👍

Hi, If you aren't having problems with your drains would you still recommend to get them cleaned out..If yes how often? Thank you for all your great videos. Stay Safe from your Tasmanian Fan ❤️🙏👍🤗
Once a year, to sleep better at night. Thanks for your support 😉 👍
Exactly my q. Thanks.
They were affected by Sandy? My thoughts and prayers go out to them then.
👍👍
😉👍
Labor intensive
Flowing like a river.
💪😎👍
Amazed you don't have an extendable magnet in your tool kit for fishing out broken cleanout caps. That and a set of "mechanical fingers" can be had at most any auto parts store for under $10 each.
I do, but they Are cast iron pipes/traps! My hands work just fine 🙂
Definitely would put an access panel there if they redo the basement
and room for buckets
😉👍
Thank you dear God my house is on a slab 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
😆
No “flowing like a river”?
Actually I did! 9:22 🤔... ✌️
@@NYDRAINSaww man how did I miss that? Thank you
@sherrycritchlow7045 🤷♂️😉 np
Man Donald, those old caps are a bitch!!! You are always very patient on jobs like this! Excellent video showing the many talents of The Master!! Lol 😂✌️🏳️🌈✌️
They sure were a pain Bryan 😉👍
I don’t understand why the put these in the house. Why not outside?
Imagine how deep that pit would be outside 😳
@@NYDRAINS if they kept the pit and pipes at the same level. Yes it would be deep. I imagine this is in the basement? If the pipes were to be ground leave so to speak. A foot under ground. It is what it is. 🙂
@rufusmedrano2962 yes it's in the basement, so the pipes run level with the city sewers
@@NYDRAINS I had to replace my sewer line . By the house it was about 2-1/2 feet and by the side walk it was about 7 feet deep. It’s about maybe 10-11 feet apart. That’s quite a drop. Is it normally that steep?
@rufusmedrano2962 every neighborhood is different. Some sewer lines are 4 ft some 10 ft, some sewer lines are under the sidewalk, and others can be all the way across the street, and it all depends
At 6:14 is it just me or was it smoking🤔🤔
Hot water 😉
Is it very common that the trap gets cracked from battles with super stubborn caps?
Oh yes, no matter how careful you are, they are very fragile, that why I opted for the angle grinder for those deep caps today.
Couldn’t you just have hammered the entire cap until it breaks open?
Yes
Flowing like a river❓❓❓❓❓❓
9:22 🤔...
How do people live like this?
🤷♂️
If your doing this for 50 bucks you need to reassess your business plan
😉👍
dont do this in the future just open both caps and make a mess as usual
😉
Who's your friend?
POOPOO!
