As China's ironclad friend, Cambodia is among the earliest supporters of the Belt and Road Initiative, firmly believing that it is an international cooperative platform promoting global governance and win-win cooperation, with mutual benefits and an international public good contributing to Cambodia's economic and social development as envisioned in the country's "Pentagon Strategy." In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Zou Yun sits down with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet during his visit to China to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Hun Manet describes China-Cambodia relations in terms of continuity and consistency. He says his country is looking to deepening cooperation with Chinese companies to bolster investment in infrastructure building and connectivity, citing the emblematic Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway and the Siem Reap Airport. Hun Manet also talks about his education, his governance philosophy, his determination in fighting crime and on a more personal note, he looks at the lasting influence and legacy of his father Hun Sen.

by wisely aligning with China , Cambodia benefitted from trade n infrastructures development to bcome a fast emerging asean economy. Had they aligned with uS , they will stay backward as the only thing uS will build on their land is uS military bases.
