I heard Nat King Cole sing Smile for the first time, in a movie called The Last Winter. I have never loved a song so much. I had to grab some tissues to get through the movie. The great Nat King Cole sang the song three times in the movie. All I could say is WOW !!!
It's a genius song, performed by , for me anyway the greatest ever singer of love songs/romantic ballads. What makes his voice and interpretations of classic songs even better though, are the peerless Nelson Riddle and Gordon Jenkins orchestral arrangements. They add immensely to their majesty. So many young people today don't get exposed to what id call classic tunes of a bygone age. It would enrich their lives so much on hearing them I'm quite sure

My father first heard Nat King Cole In a Cafe Bar Paris just after WW2 ! They were have drink with his unit and a jeep pulled up outside & a few America GIs jumped out /off ? - dunno what you do on a Jeep haha ? - & came in the bar ? & then another came in with a record player with 2 yes 2speakers while one Gi was setting it up another came in with a pile of recordings -Thats where Dad first heard Nat King Cole come through 2 speakers too !
Dad - Every Sunday morning would play his Nat King Cole recordings -while he got the veg and other stuff ready for the Sunday dinner ! - Mom was a night nurse and would catch a few zzzzz on a Sunday morning after getting home from work - Dad would prepare the food & Mom would get up at 12 while Dad went for a pint - He still could not belive the US govnt sent records for their troops in WW2 - Us Brits got bugger all he would always say !
Even though I was born about 45 years after this. I listen to Nat king cole because it reminds me of my Gran she always used to sing and hum along to his songs and when her dementia was in the later stages whenever we put on Nat she was back to her old self singing along once again. Good memories

Nat King Cole song on and her face lite up she always said he had the best voice of any singer and he was so handsome listening to his music help us get through some very tough times God bless Mr Cole and God bless my mum still miss you so much 🙏🏽🌹❤️
Nat King Cole was my Nanna’s favourite singer. She had a lovely voice and when I was little, she would sing his songs to me. This was one of my favourites. She also liked Charlie Chaplin but I don’t think she ever knew that he wrote this song.
Just watched "Modern Times", Sir Charlie Chaplin's wonderful film. Read the history of this song but feel Nat King Cole sings it better than anyone. Smile - yes no matter what you must try to keep smiling.
My grandmother (R.I.P) loved this song and him singing it of course! Her big sister saw this American guy in Glasgow and he asked her where he was supposed to walk ('cause he was black). She said:"YOU WALK WHEREVER YOU WANT, SON!" I'm from Glasgow and very proud to have her as an aunt, great aunt, whatever! Her words mean a lot to me!
Lol, I just said to my Mamma I wrote the story on TH-cam and she was kind of angry I didn't tell the whole story. Okay so I must add one detail. This American guy finally decided to live in Glasgow (Scotland) because he felt welcomed and home. I know this because afterwards, he told my aunt he had moved to Glasgow with his wife & children and would always say hello to her. The point of this story is that we are all human beings even you're yellow, green, red, brown, pink (love that colour) and we all have a heart ❤, lungs... I mean, IT'S JUST A SKiN COLOUR!!!!! Peace✌, Love and Happiness to everybody!!!
I am 81, alone. I listen to this regularly and I cry. Then I feel better. Such is the power of the melody and the lyrics.

This helped me as an adolescent in 1975 after I had just been discharged from a hospital after a breakdown! It helped me during the bad days of still early recovery!
Shalom ✌️
God bless 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for liking, whoever you are!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Another legendary, pure, chocolate velvet voice that makes one feel better.
This was the song that got me through life. I’m 87 now. But without this song. What a sad life
Each day I put on a smile & Happy face.
It works. Why cry. When you can smile & bring happiness
I always loved that song. But I've cried all my life and I'm a widow and still cry daily. But what I've been through in my life, I still smile. ❤
This song has gotten me through many of life's tough times.
Not a single word is sung on the beat, but every syllable is perfectly placed all the same. He was a genius of pacing and phrasing. Evocative beyond words.
This song is extremely sad...hide your feelings, don't release, keep it all in and just...SMILE.
He was a wonderful singer and his Unforgettable is a classic.
Hello Mary, How are you doing?
One of N.K.C.'s songs i love the most. Nat King Cole sings it so beautifully.💖💖
Probably the most positive song…ever. RIP Sir Charles.
What a beautiful song. My God, absolutely breathtaking and timeless. The music, the lyrics, and that Voice. Pure perfection!
Yeah, how are you doing
I’ve always love Nat right from I was a child in the 50s and he presented a tv show. I love this song. It always picks me up. I want it to be played at my funeral.
I absolutely love this song.
I've listened to this song and Nat King Cole since I was 12 yrs old I loved him then. Love his grand voice as often as possible. My Dad loved him too. Helped me through almost everything. I hear it .. I see my Dad. Thank you
My grandmother just passed away, and Nat Kole King was her favorite. This song, is keeping me strong ❤
Same as mine. I just came to this song as she is on her last now and I can hear her voice singing this. Bless

I played this song for my Mom when she was in Hospice. She passed away last year. But she had the memories of beautiful music to take with her. Thank You
I heard Nat King Cole sing Smile for the first time, in a movie called The Last Winter. I have never loved a song so much. I had to grab some tissues to get through the movie. The great Nat King Cole sang the song three times in the movie. All I could say is WOW !!!
I’ve always loved Nat king Cole and his music and at 84, it sounds better than ever. I hope Carter is doing ok. Linda xx
Gosh his voice is so beautiful 😢
Sending love to everyone who’s missing someone dear ❤
It's a genius song, performed by , for me anyway the greatest ever singer of love songs/romantic ballads. What makes his voice and interpretations of classic songs even better though, are the peerless Nelson Riddle and Gordon Jenkins orchestral arrangements. They add immensely to their majesty. So many young people today don't get exposed to what id call classic tunes of a bygone age. It would enrich their lives so much on hearing them I'm quite sure
Absolutely!
My Grandma Always sang this to me and dance with me her arms i miss her so bady my protecter she took my fears and got rid of many of them !!!
This song brings me through so many emotions. I’ll cry the whole song through but rest assured, I’m always smiling in the end.
A beautiful song. Reading what you just said started my tears. My mom passed January 4 of 2021. You was my very best bud. My son was about 7 or 8 when I started taking my mom to all of her dr appointments, anywhere she wanted to go. I miss my friend so much. My cousin just send this to me. You have a nice holiday. You comment just touch me. I am and always have been a cry baby. Happy or sad. Take care
😅
My Dads favourite singer.. we played this at the end of his funeral..
What a sweet moment that must have been...
My Dad's too, and he passed at 93 in 2019. We used "Stardust" and "The Very Thought of You" at his celebration of life, as well as Frank Sinatra's "I'll See You Again" I miss him so much, sometimes it really hits home.
Wonderful !
Nat King Cole and Perry Como are my favorite renditions of this beautiful, poignant song.
Much of the merit of this is the delivery of Nat Cole.
Nat king Cole an incomparable voice.really like butter!! Simply beautiful.
Even though I was born about 45 years after this. I listen to Nat king cole because it reminds me of my Gran she always used to sing and hum along to his songs and when her dementia was in the later stages whenever we put on Nat she was back to her old self singing along once again. Good memories
My mum passed away 9yrs ago at the wonderful age of 95 she had dementia for the last 10yrs in the end she thought I was her mum and I just let her call me that She lived with us until she died not knowing any of us But put.
Neither did I...thank you Loz, my nanna loved this too.
Thank oh for your story. Am doing the same with my grands.
U keep smiling 😊
Iam 71years old. Iam listening to this music Smile now at this very moment. Very meaningful
I discovered this song through the reinterpretation made by the famous Brazilian singer and composer Djavan. Great music! A caress to the heart!
Just watched "Modern Times", Sir Charlie Chaplin's wonderful film. Read the history of this song but feel Nat King Cole sings it better than anyone. Smile - yes no matter what you must try to keep smiling.
Manifique chanson et très belle interprétation. Une voix manifique.grand merci a vous ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
My grandpa who passed away last year in November would sing this to me.listening to this makes me cry.
This was my grandfather's favorite song. Miss him so much...
This song heals my heart when it's aching.
This is the classic version.
