    Where was G-d? G-d is wherever you let Him in. Of course, G-d was in the south of the country during the terrorist attacks. If G-d had not been there, more than 1200 would have been killed. G-d was there, protecting those He chose to protect, and engineering everything else that happened according to His Will. We do not always understand why G-d does things, but we accept that He does them for our benefit, even when that acceptance is hard and is challenging.
    Tikkun Olam is not just fixing the world. It is Tikiun Olam B'Malchus Shakai, to fix the world in the context of G-d's Will and Rule. Often that entails fixing ourselves, our behaviour, first. Fixing the world is often G-d's work. If we fix ourselves, G-d will fix the world.
