takehiko inoue was really healthy when he went to a medical checkup the doctor said nothing was wrong with him, so he concluded he was bored and tired of the pressure and just went sigma male mode and refuse to work on vagabond to become a baskteball coach
If it means they come back full force with 110% ready, I'd wait years for a manga or story in general that I love to finish. Alot of these creators put themselves thru alot of stress trying to get to a deadline and get to a goal they have or finish this or that, it's pretty hard, so when an author takes a hiatus, so be it, that means when they comeback to it, it'll be just as good as where they left off. Really wanna start getting into Vagabond, I've heard a few interesting things about it today alone and the art is beautiful so I'm gonna give it a shot.
I hope we get an anime with such detail as Vagabond and Real. I think if there is a studio out there that has the money, union support, and time to adapt one of these legendary Mangas into an anime that CAN and does show how amazing the art is without skimping on the animation, I’d be down. Maybe if Two of the current big three anime current anime studios teamed up just for a movie I’d be okay with it.
Takehiko Inoue is such a good author I dont play basketball But the show teaches and makes you understand the sport Which means anyone can watch it Like there are even no "weird" metaphorical powers, Inoue has faith in the sport and the action itself is enough for it to be hype And id say this again, the series made me cry, i really was expecting just people playing ball but then he writes a backstory or current lore for the characters INOUE is the goat Hopefully hes in good health for the long long years

Even though mangakas are genuinely passionate about it doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve a break, the truth is that making a manga is hard for most people but they’re still passionate and dedicated for it
Slamdunk with all due respect to Inoue is nothing compared to Vagabond, he should finish it not because he should, but because it is his magnum opus, it would be a waste if he didnt
I think there are a lot of manga's which have better art than vagabond. So it will be wrong to assume that he has the best art in the whole manga industry. For example, One punch man has better drawing than vagabond, rather we can say that Vagabond gives the most realistic vibe to an manga in the whole manga industry
There are no other people on this earth quite as committed as mangakas are brother. The 300+ chapters of Vagabond out rn have taken this man 17 years of work, with a lot of his workdays being well over 12 hours long, getting barely any sleep, and his life revolving around basically nothing else but his stories.
This "talent" doesn't just fall in someone's hands. It can only be acquired through years of practice. He didn't get his skills out of nowhere and his mental heath is way more important than finishing a manga
The slam dunk ending was rushed and very disappointing. He could have made them lose the semi final at least. He didn’t even show how much they’ve lost to Aiwa. I’m sorry, but it would’ve been better if he just left the manga without a conclusion. Overall, the slam dunk anime and manga are very good and is debatably the best animanga in the sports in the genre.
All of the reasons feel like cheap excuses to hide that he "just dont feel like it". If youre tired, take a hiatus The readers will understand If you find it strenuous to do it weekly or biweekly take a whole damn month for all we care. I don't think you people understand how much work manga is. And also it seems you guys don't understand how much work it has already been. For the roughly 30 years Inoue has worked on manga, he had to basically have his entire life centered around nothing but that. Developing stories, and illustrating them, ain't exactly a simple task. And after having taken a break for a good couple of years now, I can imagine that going back to it is a dreadful feeling, knowing full well, you will have to go back to living your work with almost no rest basically.
Vagabond is really beautiful even if it gets completed or not plus we have the last chapter in a exhibition too
