This beginner kit from Airfix is a great all rounder. Whether you are looking for a weekend build, a palette cleanser, or just getting into the hobby after a couple of dogfights in your favorite flight sim game. This can tick all the boxes.

Great job hand painting the canopy. I’m building the same kit and for the price it’s a quality kit. In my opinion I would have gone easier on the panel line wash because the early war zeroes did not look extremely weathered. But that’s your choice.

Thank you! Yeah, I like my warbirds dirty and grimy, but I do want to have some clean ones as well at some point.
Let me know if you share some pictures of your Zero when it's done. Would love to see it.

Did not know the landing gear doors left so much gap until i watched your build. I checked my kit I'm building and it is the same. Unfortunately i had painted the gear doors and fuselage separately, planning to glue the gear doors last. So i now glued it on immediately and fill the gap with water soluble putty to avoid sanding the painted doors and lower fuselage.

Happy that my video was helpful to you.
Yeah, the gap was a bit annoying. Good call on the water based putty. It is another favorite of mine.

I built their newer 1/72 Hurricane mark I kit before starting the Zero and wheels up landing gear doors fit really well - no huge gaps.

    Beautiful, great work, congratulations.
What tape do you use to mask the canopy?
I use tamiya, but I can't fold it as easily as you do.....

      Thank you very much!
I use Tamiya masking tape cut in to thin strips. To cut them up easy, look for INFINI Easy Cutting Type A mat.
It looks easy , but it was a very finicky job and in the end I ended up hand painting it anyway.
