Im making a custom dash and using an ipad too... almost ordered the plx but then backed out, now that ive seen this vid, im going to go ahead and order it, I just wanted to make sure it works with several different apps... I did find another bluetooth type one, what do you think about that?
I think I found your delay problem, all the info is sent via wifi which will have a delay being processed by the ipad. At the end of the video you said there was a direct cable, that will always be faster.
They have integrated Dash Command into the Pioneer App Radio. Since it works using all the power of the IOS 5 device, I was wondering if you could answer these questions; Since the Wifi is connected AD-HOC, can you still listen to Pandora and run the app? And does it show 0-60 times? Thanks in advance.
Hi. I am using this too, but with a laptop and a USB connection. Trying to figure out the fuel trims. I guess B1 is for cylinder bank 1 and B2 for cylinder bank 2 (I have a honda v6). But what is B3 and B4?
I've been looking for something like this for months. Just ordered my PLX 2 for wifi cant wait to see how this works with the minipad. Funny because the iPad mini snaps into the space between the bottom of the radio and the top edge of the shifter on the 3 series BMW. Almost like it was made to go there.
Use an android device, it's better for reading PID's and using OBD interface software. Torque Pro on google play store.. better than ANYTHING on the apple app store. I have an ipad 2 and a galaxy s4... the android far out performs anything the ipad can do. ALSO the delay on the reading is because he bought a cheap BT OBD connector. Mine is seamless, SCANTOOL.NET sells great plug ins.
The native dashboard on the app works very well but when I downloaded the BMW specific dash it has a significant lag. I bought an Xperia but it had bugs with it so I have to return it. (not relevant to the dashboard app) Also the Xperia doesn't snap into the same space the iPad did so I had to rig a dash mount for it which I'm not happy with either. But if I can get a replacement for the Xperia I'm anxious to see the improvement in performance.

The vehicles DIC in the gauge cluster does that for you.

Wrong, using a wifi obd2 adapter and not "cheap". Thanks for your opinions though....

no, it just monitors everything, im not sure, but atm the only way to do that stuff is to buy a dedicated android powered tuner.. not cheap
How do you get your Ipad to turn off when the car is turned off? Or does it always stay on?
