Every time I watch one of your train videos, I wonder just how the heck all that stuff in those cars gets to where it's supposed to be...Thanks for the heads up about the Amtrack train rolling through. Thanks, Dan, for sharing this video with us.

You're most welcome Sue, and I wonder the same too about the logistics involved in moving hundreds of railcars to their proper destinations.

This is awsome! I also like to watch trains in Harrisburg and would like to know how I could get to this spot!

when each engine has a 5k gallon tank, the underground storage tanks must be massive.

Can you Imagine what it takes to Fuel Up the Storage Tanks themselves. 🤔👍

Wenn ich sehe wie die Gleise liegen wird mir schlecht. Keine Wunder das es soviele Zugentgleisungen in Amerika gibt.

Who actually fuels up the engine? Is it the conductor? Is whomever does it allowed to be fueling more than one engine at a time or for safety does the person doing the fueling h AC be to be present at the nozzle dispensing at the time men they would only be able to fuel one engine at a time? On trains with multiple DPU’s such as middle or thirds and end of train setups who is guiding them into station and then fueling each unit? Would love to hear an explanation of these procedures.🐢

Hi Curt, ... maybe someone with more experience than I can answer the questions...

They cab fuel more than one engine at a time. Fuel nozzles have cut off same as fueling your car.

Two mechanical shop workers from enola diesel shop are stationed at a small shack at the pad. They are responsible for fueling the trains as they come into the pad. You can fuel more than one engine at a time on more than one track at a time. What limits you is sometimes the engines are out of reach of the fuel nozzle. For dpu and mid train helpers the conductor gets off the train and radios the engineer when to stop the train. I believe the mechanical employee can also do that so the conductor can stay in the train and doesn't have to walk back to the cab.

Sorry I should have read my previous questions. I guess I fat fingered it in a couple of places making it hard to read. Seems to be happening to me more often lately. Sorry again but I guess it’s hell getting old!🐢
