- Most new device launches go the same way: usually the press gets review units before they’re widely available, and we get to use them for a few days or a week if we’re lucky as we work on our review.
Then press day arrives. The embargo on media coverage lifts, and everyone posts their reviews and videos at the same time. It’s a huge frenzy, commenters go nuts, and it’s a giant explosion of frantic opinion-sharing activity.
For about … a day. And then it all goes away. Sure, there’s followup coverage as people find bugs and hidden features, but after that initial blast, not many people revisit the device to see how it feels a few months later, because everyone’s already focused on the next big deal coming down the pipe.
So let’s do something about that. Let’s see how we feel about devices when they’re not shiny and new anymore. This is After The Buzz.

Blame Samsung all you want for launching every product its R&D department can come up with, but can you imagine a world without the phablets it invented? People have already forgotten how much we ridiculed the first Galaxy Note for its size, but five generations later, phablets continue to become essential.
The same story repeats itself with curved displays. After briefly using the Galaxy Note Edge, I immediately wrote off the Galaxy S6 Edge as a gimmick and decided to ignore it, but that was until I actually held one for the first time. See, instead of following the Note Edge mentality of giving you a second display, Samsung matured the idea dramatically this year, but you actually have to hold the larger Galaxy S6 Edge+ to truly get it. Let's re-visit the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, one of the best looking phablets in the market, and see if you should still pay one of the most expensive price tags for it after a few months of use.

the S6 plus is as close as u can get to a perfect innovative phone, futuristic display , best attractive build , best camera , best display , great battery , themes and the samsung ecosystem (lots of accessories , cases , support)

JACK RAIDEN yes, your S6 Edge is the one exception to this, despite the fact that it has an identical software build and has been demonstrated many times by reviewers and developers to suffer from the issue. You got the one special device that has different memory settings in the build.prop file. Or, you just have no idea what you're talking about. Let's go with that.

***** I have an edge+ and not an edge, i have 1 gb of extra ram, and i can run upto 10 apps at once. If you want more apps to run at time and consider this bad multitasking, then that is purely opinion and devoid of fact.
Am I the only one here who keeps their phones facedown on a table? Especially when I am at dinner, having a face to face conversation.
I keep my phone facedown always too. Don't know why I do that, but that feels better 😆

There is an after the buzz on this, a 4 month old phone but not on the regular s6/s6 edge which are 9 months old. Why?
***** I'm a big phone guy myself, but I feel like they should've waited until the 6 month mark at least before making an after the buzz. The AtB for the s6 is long overdo.

Antonio Scartezzini Except, touchwiz after 9 months is much worse than touchwiz after 4. And the 1gb less of ram makes the ram management worse too. Plus, they have a smaller battery so you might want to see how well battery life has aged.
+Mr. Cheesedoodles touchwiz from 9 months is the same as the touchwiz as it came out of the box. No slow down at all on my s6. Ram management is still shitty but better than what it used to be. Marhsmallow should definitely fix that.
Previous versions of touchwiz did, however, slow down substantially after, requiring a cache partition wipe to get things in order again. Used to do it with my s4 once every 4-6 months

Could you guys do an after the buzz for the note 5? I know the edge plus is very similar on the spec sheet but there are some stark differences i'd like you guys to go in depth about.
Already on the 50's. I've watched the After the Buzz series since its debut.
I love my edge+, even though mine is in a unicorn beetle case you can still really appreciate it's beauty and how well is made, built quality is second to none on the software side everything works rather smoothly, overall I'm very satisfied with it, I don't foresee a better looking high quality phone than it in 2016.
+Jaime Rivera, have you had any dial time issues with the S6 Edge+? I'm having problems dialing into coherence calls when they ask for a meeting ID, or when I call my credit card company and have to enter my credit card number. It takes at least 3 attempts to get it to recognize my number. I've had this with two phones now. I have a work iPhone and it does not have this problem with the same number.
My LG G3 is doing a great job performance wise. Amazing how snappy it is. However the screen flickers on and off and fades to black starting about 2 months ago. Do I have to replace the lcd screen? I took it apart and disconnected and reconnected everything. Might have helped only a little bit. But I don't want to drop $650 for a lg v10 when I can spend just a bit on a screen replacement cuz this phone is (really stressing this) AMAZINGLY FAST. Help would be appreciated
could you make another video about this phone now with Marshmallow available for it, and comparing it to the new Note 7? This phone is really intriguing because my local Sprint store still has some in stock for a decent price.

Its 2017 and this phone went from $814 in 2015 to a measly $200 on ebay used today. I got mine last week and i couldnt be happier!!

My Galaxy Note 4 Edge just cracked. It was really was one of my best phones. I didn't know if getting the S6 Edge plus was worth it. Now I know it is. this video was exactly what I needed. Even in in 2017 this phone is worth it :)

Has this phone really liked it but had to get an iPhone because this was getting hot and burning the battery constantly. Probably because it was a T-Mobile version witch they always find a way to destroy the software. Still have the cover for it might get one unlocked instead this time.

Great series! and I completely agree with your review typing this from my edge + I really like it. Samsung gets alot of crap but I can tell you this is a great year to buy Samsung.
I love this phone so much even after 3 months that I don't have a desire to get another phone.
I often put my phone face down especially during meetings and dinners. So the face down edge feature is useful for me.
