Great video. I've done the complete Norwich to Liverpool run. Got a 7 day 1st class national rail rover. One day did an early Southport to Leeds, HST Leeds to Kings Cross. Kings Cross, bus to Liverpool Street. Class 90 Liverpool Street - Norwich, Norwich - Liverpool, Liverpool - Southport. It's a good journey from Norwich, with train reversing twice, at Ely and Sheffield. At Norwich the train is shown as Lime Street Liverpool on the departure board to prevent people from mistaking for the Liverpool Street service. Needless to say, one passenger did make that mistake. Advised by the guard to get off at Ely and get a Kings Cross service. I'd rather have a 158 or 159 than many of the latest trains, including the sHitachi 8XX series. Certainly rather take a 159 from Waterloo to Exeter than a GWR 802 from Paddington. The lovely old red brick building you can see beyond the platform at Manchester Piccadilly is the old Mayfield Station which closed to passengers in 1960, and was used for parcels until 1986.
As I live in Australia You give the title Liverpool To Norwich But you start your journey from Manchester at present the video is say next stop Dore and Totley near Sheffield I migh catch on
This is the entire route the train does, but our guy doesn't always start at stated departure point, nor go all the way through to the final destination
So the Liverpool Lime Street-Norwich route is mainly operated with Class 158 Express Sprinters which are more reliable than the Class 222 Meridian and Class 170 Turbostar. Will EMR allow the Class 222 or Class 170 to operate between Liverpool Lime Street-Norwich via Manchester Piccadilly and Peterborough.
