I still cannot believe this staff lined up with five defensive backs and gave up 9 and 1/2 yards per play..... And instead of somebody on that sideline saying maybe we should make an adjustment here everybody just sat there with their hands in their pockets and watched it

I wish I could agree… with the disbelief. Unfortunately, blunder after blunder so I now expect additional blunders.
Look at the other side of the ball when they had Duck Hodges-they played a game vs the Bills with a young Allen (before he popped) and they had Hodges throw it 38 times with only 14 rushing attempts for the RBs. Putting the game on the undrafted rookie QB when they had a stout defense and up against a poor offense is no better and no worse than putting up a bunch of smaller players against a bunch of big dudes. Oh, and the Steelers lost 10-17 after 4 INTs.

Over the last 16 NFL drafts, they've produced 11 guys that have put up 700+ yard receiving seasons. Thats an amazing hit rate, and should 100% be taking a guy in the top 3 rounds each year. You just never have enough of those guys.

Pat Meyer can continue his life's work outside of Pittsburgh.
Too much talent to be this underdeveloped *cough* 77.
    The entire line 54, 66, 77, 74, and 76 look extremely promising.

Just depends on the price though I’d draft someone late and bring in a cheap vet to challenge since he can only backup the left side and anyone that would beat him out would need to be a swing tackle.

How do you help a young OL? Either have an elite post snap processor that gets the ball out like Mahomes or Burrow in 2.5 sec, but since that's not a possibility, you get a mobile QB who can hold up in the read option game physically. Look what a constant numbers advantage in the run game via the read option did to the Steelers defense. That action slows down filling LBs, crashing edge players, & can punish penetrating DTs.
Of course no other NFL defense is going to have their free be the scraper with ILBs walked up in A or B gap or play Nickel vs 7 300 pounders, as that is the definition of unsound defense. The Steelers defensive gameplan is a good example of how becoming very good at the read option series can force teams to overthink themselves into unsound alignments to counter the numbers disadvantage.

As it stands, Pittsburgh is a terrible landing spot for a QB or top tier WR… but it’s an outstanding place for a HC where they’ll get more grace than any other franchise.
With that in mind, the Steelers should be able to pick just about any coach they want!

You could take a RB in the 3rd or 4th. And they’d do the same thing if not better than Najee did if you invest in the Oline again with good draft capital. Jaylen can take the lead in meantime. He’s proven to be a solid back. Improve the line. He will have an easier time getting thru those holes.

From what I saw, Darnold's issues were coverage sacks or IMMEDIATE pressure. I think the Rams did well, more than Darnold did bad. Quarterbacks sometimes get way too much credit, and way too much blame. I think Darnold and Wilson fall into the too much blame catagory.

The other consideration on those vet QBs is they are all expensive… they need to put cheap talent back there and be sure to turn that cap room into the far superior roster. Be better all around and keep plugging in the cheaper (rookies and vets) until they get it right.
But first, change the HC/DC and OC

@TheKhertz27 did you not read my comment? Have you ever played offensive line ? Well I have from the time I was 8 years old into my early 20's Then I've coached in multiple levels the offensive line . There is a thing called the 3 Mississippi count that is what is asked of your offensive lineman are asked to stay with their block the whole way from midget football up to the pros . Do some gwt beat within that time yes of course it happens to the best. But we both do agree that in another few years they'll be just fine they are a young group upfront.

Broderick Jones is one of the biggest first round busts in the entire NFL over the past two seasons. Seamalu is nowhere near as good as he was with the Eagles. McCormick is a backup at best.
