    This hike was pretty intense and I now understand why it earned the title of the most difficult and dangerous trail in the White Mountains. Scary fun.

      Was more than we were expecting on the scrambles, but certainly a memorable experience.

    Hey, do you guys remember meeting a group of 3 younger fools at the top of the Huntington ravine trail who you warned not to go down because it was crazy? Well if you do, that was me and my friends and we did happen to make it down alright!

      Shafordoh’s friend here. We probably should’ve listened to you. Incredibly well-done video!

      I do. Small world! That was a bit more exciting than we anticipated. Glad to hear you didn’t make it on the list of those who needed to be emergency evacuated.

    Oh my god! What a bad luck you had on that trip. The lens, the drone, the sunglasses... Like it was some foreshadowing in a movie.:D Anyway, thank you for pushing through, it was a beautiful and relaxing video! Great job!

      If everything went according to plan it wouldn’t be as memorable. At least that’s what I tell myself. Anyway, thanks for watching!

    There could certainly be worse winds on Everest (than Mt. Washington), but we don't have people or instruments up there to record them. Everest is sometimes hit by jetstream winds.

    Hello! Fantastic footage, editing, music etc, great video. Beautiful area, the drone footage is stunning it almost looks like a spot in Europe or something. What drone do you have? How were the water sources spread out , what time of the year? Really nice stuff

    • @RyanJSchmitz
      @RyanJSchmitz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I was using the mavic 2 air by then. Plenty of water sources in the whites. We went in July. Definitely my favorite mountains in the north east part of the US.

    Beautiful! I loved Huntington with a daypack - exciting. With a full pack it would be too exciting! Great footage. Nice music, great job on this. Where'd you camp on that night after the climb up?

    • @RyanJSchmitz
      @RyanJSchmitz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not a named campsite, but if you look at my map you can tell it’s on the Great Valley Trail and the West Branch of Peabody River. Wish I could be more help…and yes, it was definitely thrilling with a full pack.

    I know the feeling man! I was caught on Mt Washington with the same winds at 32 degrees and no pants! (only shorts) lol So happy they let us in the hut!! Keep up the videos man!

      Currently using Musicbed. They seem to have a larger selection of the type of music I like for these things.

    8:34 you guys had to climb that without any ropes or harnesses? 😳 I would’ve turned right back around to my car lol

    • @RyanJSchmitz
      @RyanJSchmitz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, honestly we should have done some more research. It was a couple of hours to get to the first challenge and we didn't know if it was just thought it was one section. Once we got past the first sketchy section, there really was no turning back. Makes for good story telling though!

      @@RyanJSchmitz that is true. My husband and I have hiked different trails with our kids for years and we’ve gotten into some situations that now we laugh about and can tell our grandchildren 😆

      Ha, no shame in that. I'm 6'5 and finding hiking related gear is oftentimes difficult. At the moment I'm looking for an ultralight tent that can fit me and my better half. Giving the zpacks Triplex a go. Looks like the Free Duo is the same in length as the Triplex and you being 2 inches taller than me, did you hit the walls with your head and toes?

    • @RyanJSchmitz
      @RyanJSchmitz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly the Zpacks just isn’t big enough, I go hit my head and toes. If my pad was a bit thinner I might have a bit more room. Triplex would give you more room to sleep at an angle. I had better luck with the REI quarter dome but at half the weight and the money already invested I can’t seem to go back to it yet.

    a couple nice bitsof footage - drone shots idk how you got its usually so windy up there - but otherwise a kind of boring film feel like the mountains carry ur content more than it contributes anything back

    • @RyanJSchmitz
      @RyanJSchmitz  ปีที่แล้ว

      The mountains are what are supposed to carry the content. Mission accomplished. Thanks!
