- When I recorded this episode back in March , little did I know that it would be my last trip for sometime .
Now that Covid -19 has firmly made it mark on Society not just in Ireland but worldwide, we all need to reconsider our everyday life and ensure that we practice social distancing and moreover stay at home .
Some of the highest and finest marine cliffs in Europe, County Donegal’s Sliabh Liag (Slieve League in English) are not to be missed.
To make the most of your visit, it’s best to leave your car in the car park and walk the few kilometres to the cliffs. As you climb toward the top of Sliabh Liag - which at 601m high is not a place for the faint-hearted - there are terrific views of the Atlantic Ocean, Donegal Bay and the Sligo Mountains.
Sliabh Liag was also the site of a Christian pilgrimage for more than a 1,000 years, although it’s believed to have been a sacred place long before the Christians arrived.
Given the landscape’s rich history, there is a lot you can learn at the visitor centre, where you’ll also get a taste of the local food, culture and unique sense of humour.

Hi Darren, what an amazing location! Yes, we also had so much haze in the air in March and April as well, because of the high pressure weahter over nearly the entire winter. But the way you managed it to use in your compositions is really fantastic!

WOW!! Great video today!. I just found your channel yesterday. In July of 2018 my wife, grandaughter and myself spent 12 days driving around Ireland. We spent 3 nights in Donegal and while there I drove the ~30 miles (can you tell I am from the states) out to Slieve League. I must have stopped at least 20-30 times along that narrow road to take photos a few of which won blue ribbons at my local fair that fall. Thanks for the reminder!!!

@@DarrenJSpoonley Not per se. We were on the Wild Atlantic Way a few times for a few miles. We stayed 3 nights in Cork, 3 nights in Donegal, and 3 nights ~20 miles west of Dublin (about 5 miles from the Wonderful Barn).

Nice little spot there i thought you may have used that brush to your right as some foreground interest and frame the bottom, was that manageable from that position?
Thank you Joseph .. yes I tried that but as I wanted the stacks to be the other element to the cliffs . Having the gorse there would have distracted from that and it was also a dull colour
