    The remodel looks awesome!! My eye was caught by your display of test tiles. I’m curious how you came up with those specific tiles. Did you follow something from a book? Or did you come up with them on your own? I’ve done random test tiles, but I like what you created. Would love to know more. Thanks.

    Oh… I am so pleased for you! I know how depressed and frustrated I was after we moved and while waiting for my studio build. This is wonderful, and you will enjoy many happy hours in this space.
    I also have a baker’s rack for staging projects and storing extra molds. Only one, and it is half height, because that is all I have space for. But I lined my “baking sheets” in the thick mesh shelf liner. Gives a bit of cushion for the glass or Zypped molds.

    Jamaison, your studio is amazing. So many thoughtful details! Thanks for sharing your renovation with all of us. I love your new cutting table and the storage underneath it. What strip cutting system do you use? Does it fit a full 24” sheet?

    • @JamaisonSchuler
      @JamaisonSchuler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the cutter’s mate plus with their strip cutting tool add on. I haven’t used the weighted free form cutter much (mostly just the strip cutting for straight lines so far) but I do like it. And yes, it fits a full sheet of glass. amzn.to/3xpefEd

    Looks fantastic! I had to chuckle as I didn't know you were elbows deep in redoing your space, and that's exactly what I'm doing right now! You have certainly given me some ideas. My space is 10 x 12 and I only have a very small kiln there. One thing I do have to ask... aren't you afraid of glass shards getting stuck in your carpet on your glass cutting/working space? I'd be afraid to put my hands down on it after awhile. 🤔.

    • @JamaisonSchuler
      @JamaisonSchuler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I posted about the carpet on one of the popular Facebook forums and many said it’s no big deal and that many large studios carpet their work tables and have for years. Most said a vacuum now and then is all that’s needed!

    • @JamaisonSchuler
      @JamaisonSchuler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s kind of an unorganized mess! One drawer has glass rods, one is an assortment of tools and misc, one has some decals and other supplies, one has cutoffs of kiln paper scraps, etc.

    Do you know the measurements of your space? I am getting ready to move and will be putting up a metal building for my studio - trying to keep it from looking like a warehouse on my property LOL.... thought about a standard oversize 2 car garage (25x25) but I also paint and have a jewelry (metal working) and enameling addiction - so even though the glass will take up most of the space - I want to plan it for all the various tools... Your ideas for space saving and mobility are awesome and I am pretty sure I'll use some of those! Thank you!

    Q: at 5:01 you show your Husky workbench and Sonic cup, with tools on a magnetic strip above. On the far left appears to be a small hammer of some kind (with a long handle). What is that, and what do you use it for? Thanks!

    • @JamaisonSchuler
      @JamaisonSchuler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bill... it's called a "watchmaker's hammer" that I bought at Harbor Freight. I thought I could have it on hand to help break up glass if I needed it, especially thick glass like billet. However, I'm finding it just isn't that effective in doing what I hoped with billet. So it gathers dust...
