It's remarkable that Elizabeth was able to continue playing the Maggie the Cat role soon after her husband Mike Todd had died in a tragic airplane crash. She was not on the plane because she has a virus and cancelled the trip to go with him to New York where he was being honored and roasted. Everyone on board the plane died. Elizabeth's acting in the movie is brilliant because of the raw emotions she was feeling at the time and how real they were. She should have won the Academy that year.
I was speechless on having learnt the fact about Elizabeth Taylor ,still it's Tennessee Williams who gave the stimulus to raw emotions of the young couple in the movie dramatically performed by Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor and no less skillfully performed by two other couple in their own way...
I'm 80 now, I've always been sad, there is so much I have missed before I was born, and so much I would have missed if I wasn't. It seems to me now, I must have known it all along, "For so many have passed before their time". And I miss them all.
