This is the exact route I took across chicken out ridge when I went last year. Seems just simply walking the ridgeline would have been way less stressful based on other hikers videos.
Mid August to mid September is probably the best time. After that the weather starts turning again. You can definitely go earlier, just be prepared to possibly deal with some snow. Borah is climbed all year, but it’s definitely easiest (for most people) in late summer.

Its really not that bad, but I think going over the top may be a little less exposed. If I ever go back I’ll go that way and see!😁

Is there too much snow in June or july
In June, definitely lots of snow. Most years quite a lot of snow in July and sometimes into August as well.
