My Younger Brother of 2 years younger died June 29th 2020. He was 39 then. His Birthday was this month May 8th and June 29th will be 4 years since he passed.. He was my best friend. We did everything together since we were born. And it pretty much never stopped. As adults we even worked together for many years, lived together for many years off & on.
Me. Our older Brother, who is 5 years older than me and my twin children who are 20 years old today all were together at least the Day before he died.. The last thing he did with us was such a beautiful night I'll never forget.
He was leaving my house and I also was to take my kids back to their house where they lived with their mother.
He was about to head home, we were all out front saying goodbye for the night and I realized I left my car running with too little gas in my steep driveway and my car stalled.
My Brother said jump in real quick and I have a gas can in the bed of my pick up we'll go get you gas, so we took a ride alone together a few blocks to the gas station and he got me my gas, we talked a little but, he said he had also tons of chopped firewood in the bed if I wanted any for my yard but I didn't want to put him out further, he had a fairly long ride home about 40 min, and I really didn't want to put him out longer than I already did getting me gas.
When we got back to my house I was about to put the gas in and it was dark so he said let me get a flashlight out of my truck so you can see, as me and my kids were standing there putting the gas in, it started raining out of nowhere. He didn't show back up with the flash light as I expected, or as quickly as i figured.
I kinda thought for a split second he didn't want to get wet or stand in the rain so he didn't walk right back over. As i'm thinking this the rain turned off. Or so I thought. I looked behind me and he was standing there holding his umbrella over me and my Twins.
I said Brian you're getting soaked, I could see it.
He said what good am I if I can't keep the rain off my Brother and Nephews. He literally stood there and got soaked.
I told him I loved him, he said it back, we all hugged and he left. I said let me know when you get in.
He texted me 40-60 minutes later, he said I'm in my house all good. I think I probably thanked him again and we said we'll talk In a day or so.
That was midnight ish.
His roommate our friend, called me like 9am crying said he was gone. He died sitting on his couch watching TV I guess a few hours later. They said they didn't know the exact hour but most likely 3am-6am.
Some days I almost can imagine he might call me any minute to say remember that time. This or that. Or I'm in the neighborhood I want to stop over and hang out which usually happened at least a few days a week. Especially the weekends. Or i would call him anytime any of the 999 kagillian things we did together reminded me of the kind of things that constantly made us call eachother to say remember this or that. We were like our own set of twins that had our own language together as twins do. We didn't even ever have to over explain anything because we always knew what eachother meant exactly.
Also around the same time I also Lost who I called my Brother who was our neighbor at my 6-14 Years old and he was only 2 days older than me. So we would lie and tell people we were twins as a joke but we looked alike, were that close, same ancestry and everything. So he really was my Brother too. And many others around then, life long friends, both my Grandmom's, 2 of my uncles. It's been a hard hard few years.
And beautiful Artists & songs like this are just everything important in the world. This isn't the 1st song I heard tonight learning of this amazing band tonight but Boy did it touch me.
I'm a die hard fan for life starting tonight.

When I find bands like this which I only just was shown them tonight when I showed my good friend another band I recently found from another great friend of mine and that band is Interpol. They're Amazing.
This band is different from them but also so amazing.
This is the type of new thing when I find it, it makes me an instant addict for everything they offer #1.
And #2 it forces statements out of me like the Lord Clearly Plays Favorites when there's artists like these out here walking around and creating art like this, where you know it comes so naturally to them. They aren't trying really at all. They're just born that good and you only have gifts like these from God, and you can 100% sharpen your blade from time to time certainly, but you still had to be born a Sword of God.
I love you guys so much. Please don’t stop making music. Please. The soundtrack to such beautiful moments of my life. Thank you.

i actually can't believe how it's been 2 fucking years since this song came out. i literally remember me sitting in my basement of my parents house cleaning my room when I saw this in my recommended and it said 3 minutes ago. not this specific video, but it was this channel and it was only the cover. Some sort of large building with the couch and ring around it. i remember it clicking on it not knowing what i was going to find and i listened to this album everyday throughout 2021-22. kinda drifted but always loved coming back to this song time to time bc it is truly so beautiful. Loved this song and entire album the day it released and hope you guys bring us more. So, I thank you dearly, for making this song.
