The past fills me with regrets beyond redemption, the future has been crush and at best bleak. Never though about actually someone to being able like an open book, wide eyes with life and ecstasy, who show so much effort. And I killed it.. with my own ego. So much I should have done but it was always later or tomorrow in my mind..I took her for granted and I can't even swallow the saliva in my mouth realising tomorrow is no longer an option. The pain, the regrets, the mischances..I truly hope no one they go through this..

I had stage 4 cancer a year ago, I listened to this song every night and cried myself to sleep. I was scared and didn't know if i was going to make it through, but I have so far. This song means a lot to me, and i listen to it when i need to take a step back to humble myself and be thankful for what i have.

My husband married me and carried me during the height of my illness and helped me as I healed. Not only did he take care of me, he took on being a father to my 12 year old daughter at the time with no hesitation. He built this house up. My husband died 5 months ago in a head on collision and our 6 month old baby boy survived. This is a beautiful song that really speaks to me.

Born 1993, when I was around 5/6 me and my family had to move to Germany, Osnabruck because my Dad was stationed there for being in the British Army. We stayed there until 2001. I can honestly say from what memories are still there in my head, are the best years of my life. If I could just relive those days, just for a few hours, I would be so happy. I spend hours crying happy/sad tears on Google Earth Pro with the time machine of the maps. Seeing my old Primary School before it was demolished. Seeing the Army barracks my dad was at before that too was sadly demolished. Seeing my old childhood home which I haven't seen since we left 23 years ago. It's even more saddening with how Germany's privacy laws are. Google Street view is practically none existent. So the buildings and the streets I fondly remember are mainly just these pixelated resemblances of buildings that I still vividly remember from my childhood but I can't see how are now or was a few years ago. I only have what I remember, and the odd remnants of videos here on TH-cam which is extremely lacking and rare to find Thankfully some time last year, Germany finally lifted those privacy laws for Google Maps Street view and i finally got to see my home again for the first time since we all left way back in 2001. I will be honest. I've never cried so much in such a long time. It was harrowingly different everywhere i looked around Osnabruck but I could also see things that haven't changed at all. The walks we went on, the Warner Brothers Movie Theme Park down south near Dorsten. Pony rides in the woods and picking the oldest one there who was called Boris. I picked him all the time because he liked to eat the grass a lot which made the ride last longer so I could spend more time with him. The little & big lake walk just behind the Nettebad. The traditional Christmas Markets in the town centre. Playing video games when my Dad finally came home on my Playstation 1, we would try and beat the games in one day but never could because I didn't have a memory card. Getting excited whenever Pokemon was on the TV. Friends round mine to share the big swimming pool I had. Watching Halloween Town before going out trick or treating. Finding our first ever pet, a kitten abandoned behind a grit bin while we were on a bike ride and taking her home, we named her Millie. So many memories. All lost to time. With only old VHS tapes & photographs to try and relive those memories at least just a tiny bit. Oh what Id do just to go back to those days. Nostalgia is such a beautiful but cruel mistress. I hate to love it and love to hate it. I Miss you Osnabruck. I miss you childhood. But. I have a daughter now, born Bonfire Night in 2022. Can't believe it's almost been 2 years with her already. And I honestly can not wait to be the best father I can possibly be. And to make everlasting memories with her that she can look back on and smile just as much as I do looking back at the ones I made with my Mum & Dad. Oh Germany. Oh Osnabruck. Oh childhood. You were the best of days. I'll revisit you one day. With the whole family hopefully.

I loved a woman like that once. I worked 2 jobs just out of school, and bought a piece of property along the river to build us a home. She was the love of my life, but she died way too young, before the house was built. I've spent a lifetime trying to feel the same way about someone, but was never able to love again. I gave her my heart, and she took it with her.

I remember about 5 years ago I tried taking my life and I remember waking up in hospital with my family there and a nurse and when I woke up I just started crying saying why didn’t you let me go I want to die let me be and my mum looked at me and said because I love you we love you and we all need you and you may think time is hard but we will get through this together and since then I may of had 3 more attempts but each time I learned that one more person actually cared about me I’m now 17 and I’m in my dream school ready to reach my dream goal of being a paramedic and I’m so glad I held on a bit longer if you ever need anything I’m here Edit: Thank you guys for the likes and support it means a lot to me xx

I listened to this song while my husband was dying in the hospital because of a genetic disorder. He was too young, only 39, and didn't want to leave me and our kids behind. The lyric that makes me think of him the most is when it says "held on as tightly as you held onto me." He was a good man and he wasn't bitter to be in his situation. He was so kind to everyone in the hospital that was trying to help him. But he really didn't want to leave, and he clung to us as long as he could manage. I miss you, Chief. I can't wait to see you again someday.

my dad has been quite unwell the last 15 years. With all the illness he took me too every training session, every boxing fight, every football game. he has done everything for me. so when you look for this video in times of need remember that you are you own man and you have your dad to be grateful for it. with all the adversary he's went through just know you can do the same, be strong and laugh its what dad wants.

This is a very special song for me. Over 5 years ago a friend of mine, who went a long road with depression, selfharm and drug abuse just disappeared. His cellphone was turned off, he hasnt left any notes or trace. Everybody knew what probably happened, but nobody dared to speak it out loud. This is something that just happens in movies and books. We have all been in denial. Two weeks after his disappearance I went on a walk with my dog, i listened to music, it was a dark and warm night in the mids of june. Spotify was on shuffle and suddenly this song started to play. It hitted me like a lightning and I just started to cry, because I knew he wouldnt come home. He commited suicide in a forest and was found two weeks after his death. I moved in a new city, started a new life and now I am becoming a psychotherapist. I am not happy, but I feel like I am in control and that things really get better. Hope y'all are good. Pls take care of yourself

My dad was diagnosed with dementia last year. This song reminded me of the hard work that he had to build a house for us. But he made so much more than that, he built a home, where me, my sister and my mother felt safe. This song made me cry so many times, because he was our best friend and now he´s no longer the same person. But we are here for him, trying to do what he always did for us. We try to make him happy and safe and make him feel that he´s not alone.

My husband married me and carried me during the height of my illness and helped me as I healed. Not only did he take care of me, he took on being a father to my 12 year old daughter at the time with no hesitation. He built this house up. My husband died 5 months ago in a head on collision and our 6 month old baby boy survived. This is a beautiful song that really speaks to me.

Born 1993, when I was around 5/6 me and my family had to move to Germany, Osnabruck because my Dad was stationed there for being in the British Army. We stayed there until 2001. I can honestly say from what memories are still there in my head, are the best years of my life. If I could just relive those days, just for a few hours, I would be so happy.
I spend hours crying happy/sad tears on Google Earth Pro with the time machine of the maps. Seeing my old Primary School before it was demolished. Seeing the Army barracks my dad was at before that too was sadly demolished. Seeing my old childhood home which I haven't seen since we left 23 years ago.
It's even more saddening with how Germany's privacy laws are. Google Street view is practically none existent. So the buildings and the streets I fondly remember are mainly just these pixelated resemblances of buildings that I still vividly remember from my childhood but I can't see how are now or was a few years ago. I only have what I remember, and the odd remnants of videos here on TH-cam which is extremely lacking and rare to find
Thankfully some time last year, Germany finally lifted those privacy laws for Google Maps Street view and i finally got to see my home again for the first time since we all left way back in 2001. I will be honest. I've never cried so much in such a long time. It was harrowingly different everywhere i looked around Osnabruck but I could also see things that haven't changed at all.
The walks we went on, the Warner Brothers Movie Theme Park down south near Dorsten. Pony rides in the woods and picking the oldest one there who was called Boris. I picked him all the time because he liked to eat the grass a lot which made the ride last longer so I could spend more time with him. The little & big lake walk just behind the Nettebad. The traditional Christmas Markets in the town centre. Playing video games when my Dad finally came home on my Playstation 1, we would try and beat the games in one day but never could because I didn't have a memory card. Getting excited whenever Pokemon was on the TV. Friends round mine to share the big swimming pool I had.
Watching Halloween Town before going out trick or treating. Finding our first ever pet, a kitten abandoned behind a grit bin while we were on a bike ride and taking her home, we named her Millie. So many memories. All lost to time. With only old VHS tapes & photographs to try and relive those memories at least just a tiny bit.
Oh what Id do just to go back to those days. Nostalgia is such a beautiful but cruel mistress. I hate to love it and love to hate it. I Miss you Osnabruck. I miss you childhood.
But. I have a daughter now, born Bonfire Night in 2022. Can't believe it's almost been 2 years with her already. And I honestly can not wait to be the best father I can possibly be. And to make everlasting memories with her that she can look back on and smile just as much as I do looking back at the ones I made with my Mum & Dad.
Oh Germany. Oh Osnabruck. Oh childhood. You were the best of days. I'll revisit you one day. With the whole family hopefully.

I loved a woman like that once. I worked 2 jobs just out of school, and bought a piece of property along the river to build us a home. She was the love of my life, but she died way too young, before the house was built. I've spent a lifetime trying to feel the same way about someone, but was never able to love again. I gave her my heart, and she took it with her.

To anyone reading this, I truly hope you stay strong and believe in a world that is better than all of our fears, worries and anxieties. I woke up and broke down today because I'm just so exhausted from being chronically depressed and anxious about life/my life direction every single day. It robs my joy and peace. I feel a little lighter after crying to this song ❤ I wish you all strength and the permission of peace in this lifetime. I remember about 5 years ago I tried taking my life and I remember waking up in hospital with my family there and a nurse and when I woke up I just started crying saying why didn’t you let me go I want to die let me be and my mum looked at me and said because I love you we love you and we all need you and you may think time is hard but we will get through this together and since then I may of had 3 more attempts but each time I learned that one more person actually cared about me I’m now 17 and I’m in my dream school ready to reach my dream goal of being a paramedic and I’m so glad I held on a bit longer if you ever need anything I’m here

I listened to this song while my husband was dying in the hospital because of a genetic disorder. He was too young, only 39, and didn't want to leave me and our kids behind. The lyric that makes me think of him the most is when it says "held on as tightly as you held onto me." He was a good man and he wasn't bitter to be in his situation. He was so kind to everyone in the hospital that was trying to help him. But he really didn't want to leave, and he clung to us as long as he could manage. I miss you, Chief. I can't wait to see you again someday.

my dad has been quite unwell the last 15 years. With all the illness he took me too every training session, every boxing fight, every football game. he has done everything for me. so when you look for this video in times of need remember that you are you own man and you have your dad to be grateful for it. with all the adversary he's went through just know you can do the same, be strong and laugh its what dad wants.
When we were young we couldn’t wait to grow up but now that we are older we wish we cherished those moments and some of us wish we could just go back to those simpler times and I am one of those people

Well what is depression when you remove the d,e,p,r,e,s,s,I,o,n, and add a h,a,p,p,y. Ok that wasn't a good way of saying what I meant, but just remember that you may not think so, but you are loved.
Depression hadn't visited me in a while, but with everything going on in the world it has become a frequent house guest.
All I can say is- sometimes just breathing, just existing, that is enough.
Learn the beginning of your basic needs; like eating, pooping, showering and sleeping. Then you can add healthy friendships that care and think about you.
Sometimes, just being able to exist is a show of great strength itself. Don't give up, you're still existing. You're strong.

Society says "if you don't act like this or look like this you are lower”, Jesus shows "all the broken, lost, depressed, hurt, outcast, bullied, come to me and I will give you rest for your souls” People will tell you “you are fine” no, you are broken and lost and you need help from the only one that can literally do anything. Maybe you are feeling just numb and hopeless, just dead inside (spiritually dead), just a walking breathing corpse, what’s the point? There is only 1 person who can help you, and you don’t have to try to earn His love, you can come to Him in all your mess, and this person knows the worst about you yet loved you the most to die for you, His name, Jesus. He offers to make you new, you can have a new beginning, a new heart, 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” I’ve been saved and changed and I want you to be, and yeah I admit before I was a Christian I hated God and religion, didn’t care I was stealing cars and bikes, self brutalizing, beating people up, and so on…. yet God saved me and changed me and I just am going through the comments and I want you to give up trying to do this yourself, give up running away from God and run to God, its a free gift! ✞ The best news ever is contained in this message. I’m sorry that this has happened to you. The past can be bad, but it can be good too. It hurts but many of us live to revive it. There are many things you can do to relieve your memories, to keep them, but not all memories last forever. I used to love & adore this song years & years ago. I was getting abused at home & felt like my life was basically over. I couldnt see a future for myself at all, and thought I would die before I reached my senior year of high school.

This is a very special song for me. Over 5 years ago a friend of mine, who went a long road with depression, selfharm and drug abuse just disappeared. His cellphone was turned off, he hasnt left any notes or trace. Everybody knew what probably happened, but nobody dared to speak it out loud. This is something that just happens in movies and books. We have all been in denial. Two weeks after his disappearance I went on a walk with my dog, i listened to music, it was a dark and warm night in the mids of june. Spotify was on shuffle and suddenly this song started to play. It hitted me like a lightning and I just started to cry, because I knew he wouldnt come home.
He commited suicide in a forest and was found two weeks after his death.
I moved in a new city, started a new life and now I am becoming a psychotherapist. I am not happy, but I feel like I am in control and that things really get better.

Sometimes I need to be sad and feel pain and cry, so this endless emptiness will go away. I feel this emptiness in my heart, in my whole body, in my soul. Just in my head are always so many thoughs, I try to not think about everything so much..
For me I learned when you are crying you are alive, you are letting it all out.

I totally understand and relate. Sadness can be addicting and it's comforting. I feel the most alive when I am upset because it makes me feel pure, raw and I don't know haha

My dad was diagnosed with dementia last year. This song reminded me of the hard work that he had to build a house for us. But he made so much more than that, he built a home, where me, my sister and my mother felt safe. This song made me cry so many times, because he was our best friend and now he´s no longer the same person. But we are here for him, trying to do what he always did for us. We try to make him happy and safe and make him feel that he´s not alone.
It must be so hard for all of you 😔, but what you all are doing for him it's a truly proof of love, i can tell by your words how much loved your father are, and that's one of the most wonderful things that i person can receive, love...
So, my appreciation for the love and care that you and you family have for you father, that's so precious, even in this circumstances, he is blessed to have a family who loves and care for him till the end, remeber that what you all are doing for him it's precious
