    After a bit of research, I opted out of purchasing my JD from a chain store. Ordered my D130 directly from a JD Dealer in 2014 with the Snow Blower Attachment, electric blower lift and cab. Absolutely no hassle, mowed the lawn and cleared the snow! Converting it from lawn mower/snow blower was made easy with a tractor lift. Great investment! So far, changed belts once and replaced the snow blower sheer pins a couple of times...

      Hey. great to hear.
      I tend to to things a few times before learning. lol
      the lawn tractor has been great for what we need on average 4 hr lawn cut if I cut it all so no issues. one belt change in fall.
      thanks for watching.
      Glenn.

    I have a D130 tractor that I bought from my local JD dealer as a package with the snowblower. Mine has a different set up for attaching the snowblower to the tractor. The snowblower has a full frame as part of the snowblower that attaches to the tractor frame under the seat and had a pivot point by the front wheels to raise and lower the blower. The only problem I have is traction on ice even with wheel chains. I have a dirt driveway so usually by half way through the winter I have a layer of ice on the driveway from the thaw and freeze cycles during the winter.

    i bit the bullet and got this unit right from deere. had them install it. the 1 time i got to use it last winter, the " lift" stopped locking into place. i figured out it is the super soft cotter pin on the spring lock. i had to take that apart, and replace it with something heavier duty. now it locks fine. but i expected much better from deere. i highly recommend you look at that before it gets cold. it was difficult to back up with the lift not locking. i also got the weights and rubber tire grips. finally, i added the snow cab, was easy to set up, but we received no snow after i did that... lol . hopefully this year

    WHY are those brackets so expensive I wonder! I got one of these used for my LA115 and the brackets were missing. I thought - no big deal, right? The 4 brackets are over $250 all together (without the hardware). Unreal. So, me, some steel and an angle grinder are getting to know each other. :-)

    Wait till the crap plastic chute takes a rock! 500+. Trust me I know and when the gear box goes boom it’s 900+ as you can’t get internal parts trust me on this lol. I have had 2 used units one with newer gear box like yours and an older first gen gear box all failed !! Normal Canadian winters. I purchased a new gear box last year for 750.00 as they gave me a deal. The chute was crazy price for plastic crap that will break especially if you have crushed rock or get a lot of ice at the end of your yard. I do like my John Deere but feel they could have made these units just a little better by using steel chute or aluminum and making parts available for gearbox’s.

    I’m having a hard time finding that Chute/ blower directional mount. You don’t happen to have the manual with a part number do you?

    Hey I bought a snowblower unit used and it did not come with a manual, would you happen to be able to show a picture/video of the pulley/belt setup?

    I just bought the exact same tractor (it's a 2012) (I live in Québec) and we do have a lot of snow. I was expecting to buy the same snowblower next year. So, if you make some videos of how it goes with it this winter, I will subscribe to your channel an follow your histories! 😁 Hope you'll have fun with it! Congrats!

      thanks for the sub....sorry to say had to return the snowblower, for the driveway it will work amazing but I need it more for the yard to make path to the shed and such...it's uneven ground and it wouldn't work for that. the tractor you picked up does it have the pre drilled holes or do you have to drill your own to save the money?

      @frankgiroux 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tazzharm I really don't know which holes you're talkin about since I only see a little part of you tractor's frame. But if I have to drill a hole or two to save money, beleive me I will... 😄
      I will soon post some videos on my channel about maintaining this tractor. As it's the same tractor (a 2012 model) I hope you will enjoy them... 😀

      @@frankgiroux at 1:59 the belt drive unit needs two hole one on each side , should be a square hole just past the support pin.
      it's a great little tractor and looking forward to your vids.

      Avoid it at all costs trust me !! Get a Berco blower in the end it’s built so much better. Hi end gear box and metal chutes power swing etc. if I had all my money back from these units, I would’ve bought a Berco blower in the start. They have these that will fit JD

      not sure if it would fit but does say for 100 series .....I would ask the dealer first to ensure ..

    When you bought the blower from Home Depot did it come with everything you needed as in the front Attachment and belt module? Or did you have to buy them separate?

    • @tazzharm
      @tazzharm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes every thing was included except for the two brackets, if you have the same model look on the frame just behind the mounting brackets , there should be a square holes for the bolt to go into. if not 2 options either drill your own or buy the two brackets.

      @tazzharm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattschmidt5240 I think it is but do check for the pre drilled holes the item states for all 100 series untill you get half way and then says about the holes. worst case if it doesn't work just return the item as I ended up have to do.
      best of luck.

    will this blower fit on a 2011 D140

    • @tazzharm
      @tazzharm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi. it may fit however read the instructions first. reason is for me my tractor is missing the mounting holes in the frame and needed to be drilled. I ended up returning it as it will not do well for me.
