Trolling for Walleye - bottom bounce formula

  • Today we're using the classic Viper Spoons to hook into walleye. We're trolling at about 2 miles per hour in about 60 feet of water. The Viper Spoons were baited with live nightcrawlers.
    We also go over the key to bottom bouncing and how to stay in the strike zone.

    I try this on lake Erie it work really good and caught just abouth everything on them.Nice video Thanks for sharing!

      ...still waiting for ice here...its been so warm this year but as soon as we get some safe ice, we will head out...love ice fishing :)

    Do you get many snags when using this method on lake Erie - maybe in some depths but not others ? That would be my hesitation.

      it depends on the bottom we are fishing and if it is full of rocks and structure, we will use a cattail sinker to help us avoid getting snagged :)

    Hi, here in Western Canada nobody carries your Viper spoon, no Bass pro, Cabela or The fishing hole. Where else I can find it ?Thx.

      not often because the bait is about 10 inches off the bottom.

      we have our own and the cattail sinkers are available in sizes to 9 ozs :)

      ...sometimes we catch and keep and sometimes we catch and release :) If the freezer is empty, we like to being some home to feed our family with a nice fish fry or baked is great as well

      How do u prevent snags? Troll on sandy bottom only?
