  • Here is a quick, simple, and secure way of affixing your elevator and rudder servos to the tail section using 3M "Scotch" brand heavy-duty mounting tape. There are more advanced ways of installing servos but this is one idea to get you flying as quickly as possible.

9g size everywhere. Metal gear for ailerons and elevator (more critical, more use) and plastic gear for rudder and flaps. Metal gear digitals are getting so cheap I might start using them only. HobbyKing has some good ones.

OK thanks. I kind of jumped the gun and already bought 4 9g servos all plastic. The hxt900 I believe

I would go with the 2200KV, a smaller prop, and taper the nose.

    Those will do the trick.

OK thanks. One more question. I noticed in the "noob tube" video you say there is a 1400 kV motor on it but then in the power plant video you say the 2200 kV motor is for smaller planes such as the "noob tube" so which would be better for the "noob tube"?

Have you ever considered putting Winglets on your planes? Makes the bigger ones more efficient I believe, so figure it might help in RC? How about making an experimental "test flights" and how to on that if you don't mind. Thanks for the great videos!

You can for sure. 3M foam tape works great and comes off cleaner, but glue is fine. Consider wrapping servo in tape before hot gluing for easier removal later.

I am from south Africa and enjoy your programs very much,so does all my buddies.Only problem we have here is obtaining all the different colors of duct tape.Only grey at the moment but we are trying different shops.I built the Axon and the blokes at the club changed their opinion untill they saw it fly. Thanks for a good program and keep up the good work.

What size servos do you use for both the stabilizers and the Armin wing?

Can i hot-glue my servo's to the wing (foam), and will it be strong enough?

@Tsavah You're right, it does add tail weight which needs compensating, but it's super simple and modular for a stick-on tail.

@inciteman @inciteman I do like winglets in principle and have put them on two of my current planes. One is the Peace Drone (video on my channel), where the winglets are the actual vertical stabilizers, and a motorglider you can see briefly in my video intro. Most of these foamies are kind of low-to-medium performers that might not get too much noticeable benefit from winglets, but I use them where I think it might help. Thanks!

I already made the plane the way you made the noob tube in the video. So I'm going to use a 2200 kV motor 30a ESC 3s 2500mah battery. Is that good? Any suggestions?
