I have been itching to buy a new car since the one I have is going on 16 years... I wanted to upgrade from a 4 door sedan to a small medium SUV and the CX-70 stands out from the rest in the segment (at least for me). My prediction is that the cx90 will be more expensive this year, and the cx70 will launch with a similar price that the 90 had last year with probably a slightly cheaper entry point but the top dog being essentially what the cx90 was priced last year
And will last many years past the warranty with just regular maintenance. For someone like me who doesnt trade in for new every 4 years, thats very important.
I wish they had differentiated the rear end more. But still LOVE IT! I'm guessing the CX-70 will start around $35,000 and top out around $50,000. EDIT: Actually I think @th003g might be correct. I've looked at a few more videos, and this car is just a CX-90 without the 3rd row. Might only be $1,000 - $3,000 cheaper when they are both equipped the same. Don't know why I thought the CX-70 was shorter than the CX-90.
I dont think there will be more than $500 difference between the 90 and the 70 when comparing the same trims. If there is, sales of 90 will be cannibalized for those who don't really need a third row since it's already small.
@@th003gNot sure about the price difference, but Mazda definitely has put CX70 and CX90 into direct competition. I mean, it is a third row deleted CX90 afterall.
I would also like the CX-70 to have bigger price delta from the CX-90, but I think Mazda is going to follow the trend from all other manufacturers and price this quite close to the 3 row option. VW, Hyundai and Kia are doing that, at least where I live. The way they are priced in my country, there's a gap between the CX-50 and CX-90, with the former at around $40,000 USD with currency conversion and taxes, and the latter at around $59,000 USD. We only get 1 trim of each, and it's almost the top one with the better engine. Hopefully the CX-70 is somewhere around $50,000 USD, but we'll see.
I think they monitor reactions at launch and then that influences how they will price trims. If they are indeed monitoring this launch I think they are going to see unless they drop price several thousand dollars vs the CX-90 there isn’t going to be as big of a market demand as they had hoped. Most people are just going to say I will pay a grand more to have the flexibility of a third row and just keep it folded down for storage until I need it. There is not a big market for what they did here.
I wish Mazda offered CX-60 in N. America. I’ve seen few one them last summer in Europe. Perfect family size SUV. I was so excited about trading my 2020 rav4 hybrid for 2025 Mazda cx-70 , but given its oversized dimensions it’s unlikely to fit my standard size garage. Too bad Mazda. I guess I will get Crown Signia instead
I'm sure it'll be a great success when people see the massive cargo space behind the rear row (because people for some reason find folding the rear seats abhorrent regardless of if the third row is used). X5 ditched the 3rd row option without issue. But given the large range of Mazdas' powertrains and the CX-90 pricing well both against economy and premium marks, if the wheelbase remains the same as the CX-90 then there is a missed opportunity to compete and outperform in the spacious 2 row SUV segment. The Passport/RDX/ XT5/ X5 (40i)/ Q5& SQ5/ VW Atlas CS/ Grand Cherokee (standard length) area, given pricing and power. Mazda may still try to market it against those 2-rows, and a discount of $2-3k from the CX-90 would likely be enough to keep it competitive. But even with Mazdas' sporty driving it will be hard to really argue that the driving and maneuverability matches the competition on such a long wheelbase.
I am fine with it being nearly identical to the CX90. The styling seems a bit boring. I like the Mazda grill but the sides are very plain and slab looking. The PHEV seems like the one to get. The CX90 is the odd one,. Quite small for a 3 row, more Sorento than Telluride!
I could see myself behind the wheel of a 2025 Mazda CX-70 GS (base model with 280 hp inline 6). Naturally, I'll wait and see the pricing and incentives. Keep the good work. 🙂
You better investigate that engine more. Go to Car Care Nut reviews on TH-cam and see what a mechanic says about that engine. Here’s a hint “remove engine to service”.
Hahaha ..... remember a couple of years ago when Mazda announced that the CX-70 *"will not"* replace the CX-5? Back when everyone kept complaining about how silly it was for Mazda to keep the CX-5 alive, instead of simply replacing it with the upcoming CX-70? *Well folks, now we finally know why!* .... hahaha .... I mean come on Mazda, the CX-70 is simply a two-row CX-90, full stop! Hell, they didn't even bother removing the 3'rd row cup holders (lol). Gee, I wonder why nobody ever complained about why the CX-90 didn't replace the CX-5? Gimme a break! (lol). And so now we know EXACTLY why the CX-5 will be around for a very long time. After all, why wouldn't it? It has always been Mazda's best selling vehicle, Mazda's bread & butter! Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Mazda, which is why I ordered a new 2023 CX-5 Grand Touring from my Mazda Canada dealer last April (red exterior, white leather interior). I received it in early July and I absolutely love it! Before ordering it, I test-drove the Tucson, the Sportage, the Tiguan, the Outlander, the CRV and the Rav4. In my opinion, the CX-5 easily came out on top. I *know* that I made the right choice, no doubt about it! With that said ----> like a lot of other folks, I seriously considered waiting for the CX-70 to be release because, "like everyone else in North America", I was led to believe that it would be very similar to the European "CX-60", and so somewhere in between the CX-50 and the CX-90. Man am I ever glad that I didn't wait. What a waste of time that would've been! Based on a gazillion "previous" TH-cam vids about the *"upcoming"* CX70, it's quite obvious that *"nobody"* saw this coming! The CX-70 is a total surprise and a massive disappointment. So I say to Mazda ...."I'm pretty sure that you're about to *"learn"* very quickly what North Americans think of your CX-70"!
Dear Mazda, If you expect people to buy your top trim versions of the CX-90 and CX-70 on either 3.3 inline six or PHEV, you can’t leave the lower trim and cladding around the wheels unfinished. They need to be painted body color or the cars look like a cheap rental car spec. You paint them on the Canadian spec cars, why short us in the USA? I refuse to pay $60,000 for a top trim car that looks like the base model. I’m sure I’m not alone on this.
Looks great, 21" wheels are silly... but I have to say... I want a PLEV for my family school bus... 40 miles electric range ... turbo i6 or v8 for when you want to get sporty or go beyond 40 miles.
Agreed on the 21" wheels. They look great but are only for people who never take their SUV even lightly off-road and live in an area with meticulously maintained streets.
Interesting lineup and marketing strategy. I bet two models will have more overall sales than making the 3rd row optional on just the CX90 so they could be on to something.
The CX90 is nice. But I found that the mid row captain chairs are too small .And the rear seats are pretty much kids only.Im going to get the Cx70 because I want big comfortable seats.Dont like all the plastic trim work with the plug in.
It makes sense to make similar car but smaller. This is what VW and Audi is doing. In the EU, Japan etc the size of the vehicle is very important, so I’m personally had Mazda understands that. Now that Mazda offers CX-?0 line, maybe make CX-X ? more utilitarian. Let’s say CX-5 compete with a Forester - more useable trunk, better visibility, softer suspension and more capable AWD.
With all the recent comparisons to bmw, you could also say they're building out their lineup in the same way. Mostly similarly designed vehicles but of different sizes to cater to every possible person and budget that is interested in mazda. If only that rx vision could come and cater to the enthusiasts sooner rather than later....
I don't understand why this isn't positioned as the CX-90 SportCross or something. It's only superficially different from the CX-90, and it misses the heart of the smaller premium two-row CUV market by a mile. At 200"+ inches long the CX-70 is more than a foot longer (and hundreds of pounds heavier) than some of its most formidable competition, yet I don't get the appeal of all that added size and weight. I was really up for this car, but now that I see it, it's off my 2024 shopping list.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video i would rather have the phev as to the V6 i currently have the 2019Mazda3GS sport hatchback
Anyone know (or cares to make a guess) if the I6 will require premium fuel? I was hoping that it would take both regular and premium... otherwise id consoder the PHEV
I believe that both 6 cylinder and the phev are direct injected and turbo charged. As such, while you can give them regular, you should use premium. This goes for all turbo charged direct injected engines. Over the long run you will have higher maintenance costs and worse fuel economy with regular on these type of engines.
Well said and Observed. This CX-70 w/o the 3rd row is equal to the CX-90 with the 3rd Row down?? WTH Mazda?? They should have brought the CX-60 (in Eurpoe and Australia) to the US. That would be the ideal SUV for many. How many people actually use these 3rd Rows anyway? I have a 22 MDX , and a 2019 MDX before that - I never used the 3rd Row in either (and a Infiniti 2016 QX-60 B4 that). I'm a 72 yo retired guy, kids are gone and married with children. When we take 2 of the 5 Grandkids for school pickups, etc we use my wife's 2016 CRV which has the Car seats in it.
Ok I get it. Let's compare it to a Toyota Highlander and Grand Highlander. What I don't understand is Mazda give these vehicles two different nomenclatures?!🤔 By the way in black it looks sooooooo good!
A great car with most probably a great engine, excellent exterior-interior styling and good track record for quality BUT definitely had a transmission that leaves you wanting during low speed driving conditions. Its like the moment you start the engine you have to drive withiut stepping on the brakes at all.
Please let the auto manufacturers know that people are getting tired of these “reveals” where they don’t announce all the details including pricing and availability. The tech industry does their reveals properly.
I see this from the side of the enthusiast but I also see this from the side of the OEM. You have to look at these as an alternative to showing the car at an auto show. There, you get the same lack of information and it is really about 'premiering' the vehicle. I prefer this to an auto show any day because I get one on one time with the car and shoot at a realistic pace without a scrum. As you can see, I, too, am frustrated without details which is the reason I insert context to provide more insight. Hope it helps.
So Mazda did like Toyota Highlander (CX70) & Grand Highlander (CX90) and you know what? It works, I would buy the CX70 because I love trunk space and hate 3rd rows 😂 … and I hope Mazda will give it the zoom zoom feel …. Good job Mazda
Perhaps it IS more apparent in person, but if Mazda changed the shape/external dimensions of the CX-90, even in the liftgate area, it is AT BEST MINUTE and near imperceptible. CX70 looks the same size and other than removing the 3rd row, it's belts and mounts, the same curb weight. A 'destigmatized' (not a 3-row people hauler) version of the earlier model. Little more. Had hopes Mazda would make a large sport ala weight reduction and performance bump to make it more 'real Mazda' than the mass appeal massive CX-90. But they are a small car company and this change is cost effective, I suppose.
I think the colors were making the back end look different. I don't think there's any extra metal, I think they're the same car just without 3 rows? I like Mazda moving up market BUT the CX90 is great in its class but it's not nearly quiet enough to be in the same plane as a BMW or even Acura. Great first attempt, things look great, are build well but materials need to come up a little more and it needs to be a little quieter. I'm skeptical that this 50 is going to fix any of that. I hope it does though.
I went in to my local Mazda dealership to express my disappointment today. Most of us were expecting a rebadged CX60 size for North America. Too big for me. Will wait for 2022 Genesis GV70 to depreciate a little more.
I’m sure all the salespeople embraced you and really cared about your Karen moment. Where do you work? Would like to bother you with my complains about your company that have nothing to do with you.
@@rich1958 I didn't blame anyone at my local dealership. But they had to know their company made a bad decision and lost business.. Many others expressed disappointment like I did. . Up yours with that Karen comment!
Toyota Venza lease up in May. Was looking at the CX70 as a possible replacement. I read that it would be close to the CX60 in size but wider? Wasn’t thinking they’d do a CX90 without the third row. Hey Motorman, can’t price this thing the same as the CX50 unless you’re eliminating the 50. If it is priced like the 50 and tops at 46K, that might bring me back in. IMO, this thing starts mid to high 30’s and tops at mid 50’s undercutting the 90. Cheers
I think the CX70 delivers the platform for mazda to develop the road map more to full EV.. they would have made a CX90 sport and chopped the 3rd row.. but they have bigger plas down the road. .. I am sour no real exhaust tips tho.. Seems odd with an Straight 6.
There is, IMHO, no way Mazda can cut $15k of content (if you want the top trim of the CX-70 to top out in the high $40k range.) I hope it is true but I'm highly dubious. Since I'm not seeing the super-fancy interior with the hang-stitching (or whatever it is called) and the real wood trim, and of course no 3rd row, I could see $5k of content reduction. But I don't know much about the cost of the fancy interior bits and/or the cost of the 3rd row itself. Now, if I was dreaming, I'd put this in a sedan or hey, dream big, a wagon. Now *that* would be super-cool.
How is this guy the only journalist that doesn't realize that its the exact same vehicle? He keeps reiterating how the proportions are different and how its a "russian nesting doll". No, my guy, its the exact same vehicle except the 3rd row, a bit of bumper trim changes.
Mazda could really fix this controversy by adding more power to the CX-70. With the weight savings from removing the third row, more power would make this CX-70 a true sportier option than the CX-90!
I am so disappointed in this vehicle. It’s a CX90 with a third row delete. They could have just offered that option on the existing CX90. Mazda made everyone believe that they were going to offer a widebody version of the CX60 for the US market. Instead we get the same vehicle minus the third row. I seriously planned to trade for this when it came out, but I don’t need anything this big. Why not at least a Coupe version like what VW/Audi did with the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport or the Audi Q7/Q8. Even that would have been an improvement over this. Oh well, back to waiting for Mazda to release a new Mazda 6 with this Inline 6 platform.
@@smok3sho587 Are you stupid? The CX-5 is an obsolete technology on an platform with old engine choices and dated transmissions. There is absolutely enough room in the lineup between the CX-5 and the CX-90. It's also the hottest-selling market. Mazda missed a huge opportunity here.
Couldn't they, I don't know, perhaps bring over the CX-60 from Europe? It's a handsome car, don't get me wrong, but Mazda is slicing this particular weiner way too thin. On a sidenote, kudos to them for bringing a Cosmo to the event. Excellent work like always, M.
Two things . . . 1.) Yes, I am a fan of the CX-90 - Inline 6 only - so not going to spew hate like everyone else is about the CX-70 being a trim model until we get all the facts however, I would have preferred the CX-60 - just enough different to justify two models. 2.) Mazda likes doing these fancy houses for reveals. Lovely to look at in the finished product but hell to shoot at. Why? Noise. This one was particularly bad because the next door neighbor was having a massive remodel done and we had to shoot in between nail guns and machines going the entire time. All that to say, they brought the Cosmo from the basement of the Irvine design studio to 'stage' in front of the garage. NO ONE else used it. I rolled up, saw it, and had no choice but to shoe horn it into the episode. Hopefully the context worked.
@@MotoManTV "Spew hate"... it's a factual statement that was confirmed by Mazda as having identical panels during the event... and by your eyes by looking in the luggage area and seeing remaining armrests and cupholders for a row of seats that no longer exist.
Mazda has Missed he Mark. IMHO, there is a market for a CX-7 ReBoot. This CX-70 should have been a CX-7 Reboot , not a CX-90 with the 3rd Row removed?? I have a 2022 Acura MDX Advance , which I truly LIKE !! (I reserve Love for People). The lease comes due this August. Did I really need a 3 Row SUV, at 72 YO, No. But I liked the redesign, the room, the comfort & the ride/handling of the MDX. I was hoping that Mazda was going to produce a new CX-70 in the US as the exact CX-60 in other parts of the world. A Bit smaller, a striking good looker, less heft, and better MPGs. And No Touchscreen! That's the major gripe I have with the Acura, its TTIP Touchpad based InfoT. system. Mazda (and Acura for that matter) should have provided BOTH - a touchscreen capability and either the Dial in the Mazda or the Touchpad in the Acura. This is now a Pass for my future consideration.
Was waiting for cx70 thinking it would be smaller than cx90,bigger than cx5 what a major disappointment cx60 would be perfect have to look somewhere else.
I love it! A more spacious cabin, although I'd prefer the 2+2 version with the deep center console in the rear. Love the available dark red leather, the silver wheel finish, Alexa recognition & control of vehicle systems, the sub-cargo floor storage. Depending on price, this I'd be very happy with!
Lighter and same Engine…Coleman…don’t you dare detune it. Reward those who need less than the CX90 and just a tad more space than the Miata but still want as much fun driving it. We’ll get better MPG with the passenger and second row seats full than we will alone; as you would expect. 😏 10:50
I laughed really hard at you asking for a slower, dirtier, thirstier version of a car that is already all of those things vs a competitive piston engine. How can we make this engine that intentionally burns massive quantities of oil spew even MORE pollution? I KNOW! Let's give it a MaNuAl!!!
Among Japanese car brand (non luxury brands) Mazda car’s design language is the most consistent across their lineup Unlike Toyota looks like every product line were designed by a different team No consistency across all Toyotas
Then buy all the other CUVs that offer it.. The Inline 6 is what makes this special in a market where people rather sacrifice reliability for 2 extra MPGs🤦🏽♂️
Does the 70 have more driver space than the 90? I'm 6-5 350 and I sat in the 90 and bashed my knee on the sharp corner sticking out of the dash and had trouble getting my knees under the steering wheel as well as felt squeezed after closing the door. Is the 70 any larger there than the 90? Usually 3rows squeeze everything tighter to get that 3rd row in.
The CX90 has such a high demand at release that they had to keep the CX90 on production lines longer than expected to keep up with demand without falling behind on production.
The audacity for them to release the same car minus the third row with a different badge. They got these automotive journalist confused AF as they're trying to do these reviews....um its like C90 but not ...look at this different trim piece here..... Gurlllllll Bye😂 Mazda playing us for a fool. They could at least brought us a stretched version of thr CX-60 but it was probably too expensive so they choose to bamboozle us with this foolishness 😂
CX 90 offers performance and COMFORT (and, of course, high security as all Mazda models). We were told that CX 70 offers the same performance, a sporty design and a DYNAMIC driving experience. If that means a SPORTY driving experience then CX 70 can stand out as a distinct model. Otherwise, why have 2 models with the same dimensions, engines and driving experience? And please don’t state because of one row of seats difference …
Mazda also described the CX90 has having a DYNAMIC driving experience. They also described the Mazda5 minivan/crossover as having a "soulful and responsive driving experience." Your final sentence is correct: it's a 90 with blacked out trim (some trim levels) and no third row. Hey, you still get the armrests and cupholders for the now-missing third row, which is nice.
Iam almost betting you that Mazda didn’t make the cx70 smaller because they are planning a new model for the cx5, hopefully rebranding it to a cx60 or just taking the cx60 over seas
Since you’re so close with Dave Coleman, tell him they need to do some special / vibrant colours for the ND3 MX-5. I think as ICE cars start going away more people will realize how special a lightweight roadster is, what better way to celebrate than with special colours. I know me and some friends that would be willing to pay but the fact that they launched the ND3 with a 3rd shade of grey is kind of boring…

I dont think there will be more than $500 difference between the 90 and the 70 when comparing the same trims.
If there is, sales of 90 will be cannibalized for those who don't really need a third row since it's already small.
I completely agree about the rear end.
$50k max for this beauty? Really??? That would be incredible!
@@SB-ed4gz Just a guess. I'm most likely completely wrong. LoL. It might very well be priced like the CX-90.
Why can't the manufacturers set the specs in stone right at launch?
I think they monitor reactions at launch and then that influences how they will price trims. If they are indeed monitoring this launch I think they are going to see unless they drop price several thousand dollars vs the CX-90 there isn’t going to be as big of a market demand as they had hoped. Most people are just going to say I will pay a grand more to have the flexibility of a third row and just keep it folded down for storage until I need it. There is not a big market for what they did here.
If they price it a couple k less that is fine for me, don’t need the 3rd row.
Agreed. This is a CX-90 with no 3rd row. Their cost can’t be much different so I wouldn’t expect the retail price to be all that different either.
@@FYMASMDWrong. Only to remove the timing belt that might need replacing at 125k miles. Let’s not exaggerate.
agree on price. this implementation of copying the cx-90 is very disappointing.
At 201 inches too large for 2 row. Nice but lazy effort.
Unfortunately there is no such thing as "too big" for US SUV buyers.
*fortunately
Too big was hoping it'll be smaller
I am not a SUV guy. I am a Mazda guy though. And DAMN that's a good looking car!
Pricing will start at US$37k for the entry level CX-70 and go all the way up to US$57k for the fully loaded PHEV before destination and options.
I love the look of the CX-70! Especially in Black! I really hope Mazda makes The Mazda6 with the monochrome theme of The CX-70
White Turbos S with blackout package
@@ddw3968 The blacked out trim actually makes it look more upscale and sportier.
I was going to get a new cx5 but I might just get this, especially since it has a good towing weight.
What people dont understand is the wheel base is the same due to long inline 6 and rear wheel drive system.
I doubt this will be mid $40k’s in top trim, probably closer to cx90’s
Interesting lineup and marketing strategy. I bet two models will have more overall sales than making the 3rd row optional on just the CX90 so they could be on to something.
Exactly
The CX90 is nice. But I found that the mid row captain chairs are too small .And the rear seats are pretty much kids only.Im going to get the Cx70 because I want big comfortable seats.Dont like all the plastic trim work with the plug in.
I have a severe allergy to anything with a CVT 😅
It makes sense to make similar car but smaller. This is what VW and Audi is doing.
In the EU, Japan etc the size of the vehicle is very important, so I’m personally had Mazda understands that.
Now that Mazda offers CX-?0 line, maybe make CX-X
? more utilitarian.
New definition for ”smaller”
I don't understand why this isn't positioned as the CX-90 SportCross or something. It's only superficially different from the CX-90, and it misses the heart of the smaller premium two-row CUV market by a mile. At 200"+ inches long the CX-70 is more than a foot longer (and hundreds of pounds heavier) than some of its most formidable competition, yet I don't get the appeal of all that added size and weight. I was really up for this car, but now that I see it, it's off my 2024 shopping list.
Smaller premium 2row CUV market is CX-5 and CX-50. The CX-70 is more mid-size SUV market and looks like a great buy
Totally unexpected from Mazda. I had hoped that the CX-70 would be a completely new model, like in Europe. I think I'll pass.
just does not make sense. The exterior is same size, but two lows instead of three. Give an option of 2 rows in CX-90.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video i would rather have the phev as to the V6 i currently have the 2019Mazda3GS sport hatchback
I love the rotary selectors in Mazda’s!
In Mazda... is?
In Mazda's what?
It's a CX90. They just deleted the 3rd row and picked sportier colors. If it were a Porsche they'd charge a premium 🙂
You could have saved this guy a lot of useless talking.
Anyone know (or cares to make a guess) if the I6 will require premium fuel? I was hoping that it would take both regular and premium... otherwise id consoder the PHEV
It’ll run on both but less makes less horsepower on regular. Interestingly, torque remains the same.
I believe that both 6 cylinder and the phev are direct injected and turbo charged. As such, while you can give them regular, you should use premium. This goes for all turbo charged direct injected engines. Over the long run you will have higher maintenance costs and worse fuel economy with regular on these type of engines.
Given that the cx60 with an inline 6 won't meet Cafe standards I think this is the best option for Mazda
Why would "one think there is less packaging space" in the back if the third row is removed in the 70??
I love this model moe than the CX-90! I don't care about the third-row seat.
Ok I get it. Let's compare it to a Toyota Highlander and Grand Highlander.
What I don't understand is Mazda give these vehicles two different nomenclatures?!🤔
By the way in black it looks sooooooo good!
Would have rather that they updated the CX9 and kept selling it than make this CX70.
I’m glad they kept the inline 6 these days.
Summon Dave Coleman ASAP because we need an explanation for this foolish decision!
Russian nesting dolls fit within each other, this is the same car with some restyled bumpers and more cladding in the bumper vents.
Has your dear friend Coleman hinted at any suspension tweaking from the cx90?
Cheers
WOW! Feel like the Venza just came out:) That said, see my response above about price.
I dislike that Mazda removes many of the niceties in the PHEV.
Mazda is killing it. Kicks X5’s ass in a serious way. It is a step up from the Highlander or the Hyundai/Kia flavors. What is not to like?
lol x5 is way better
I think the CX70 delivers the platform for mazda to develop the road map more to full EV.. they would have made a CX90 sport and chopped the 3rd row.. but they have bigger plas down the road. .. I am sour no real exhaust tips tho.. Seems odd with an Straight 6.
I don’t get it. Why not just have the third row with the foldable seats. Why name this anything other than a CX-90!? I wish this was a foot shorter.
Now I want Mazda to lean hard into this with the 6. Don’t offer a sedan. Only offer a wagon and lift back
How is this guy the only journalist that doesn't realize that its the exact same vehicle? He keeps reiterating how the proportions are different and how its a "russian nesting doll". No, my guy, its the exact same vehicle except the 3rd row, a bit of bumper trim changes.
It’s ok, Motoman also thinks the CX50 is on the same platform as a Toyota.
Mazda could really fix this controversy by adding more power to the CX-70. With the weight savings from removing the third row, more power would make this CX-70 a true sportier option than the CX-90!
I wonder what Dave Coleman have to say about this new CX-90 trim
😂
It's called a cx 5 lmfao crying about nothing
As a lifelong fan of Mazda this makes no sense.
I love it! A more spacious cabin, although I'd prefer the 2+2 version with the deep center console in the rear. Love the available dark red leather, the silver wheel finish, Alexa recognition & control of vehicle systems, the sub-cargo floor storage. Depending on price, this I'd be very happy with!
I like Mazda, but this is all smoke and mirrors. CX 70 is the CX 90, and the CX 5 is the CX 50? What are you doing Mazda? Double-dipping?
CX-5 and CX-50 are entirely different. Different platform different shape. 70 & 90 are the same except for 3rd row

Lighter and same Engine…Coleman…don’t you dare detune it. Reward those who need less than the CX90 and just a tad more space than the Miata but still want as much fun driving it. We’ll get better MPG with the passenger and second row seats full than we will alone; as you would expect. 😏 10:50
A rebadged cx90. First time I’ve been disappointed in Mazda in a long time. Big let down.

@MandusahRamirez We have a CX5, and a Turbo Mazda6. Done. When we move on from those, I would like a bigger SUV with that Turbo4 in my 6.

They also described the Mazda5 minivan/crossover as having a "soulful and responsive driving experience."
Your final sentence is correct: it's a 90 with blacked out trim (some trim levels) and no third row.
