Did Coral Island come out on Switch already?
It’s coming to switch sometime this year! I’ve been waiting for the switch release!!
no im dumb and accidentally dropped the clip where i mentioned that i played it on pc/as a switch demo from a dev friend and talked about how it’s coming out this year 😭
I agree no more farming sims! My dream is for someone to make a cozy game where you can run a library or bookshop in a historic small town or magical fantasy village
Oh boy are you gonna love what I tell you, there's a game called tiny bookshop where you run a bookshop attached to the back of your car where you get to meet and learn about the local town. Travel around the town and find out what books people want you to order, it's really cute and I think either coming out soon or is already out! It's on pc and maybe coming to switch. Have to check.
I so agree with your hopes for developers to recognize our dreams and the need of the same kind of gameplay in different settings. It is nice to be a farmer. But as readers of books, we expect authors to come up with different stories and settings. There is a void of games for grown up females in worlds and lives we only can experience through games and books. I love that more games has a grown up main character and npc's. Hopefully immersive games for adult female gamers expands beyond the farming setting in the future!
I absolutely agree that the cozy genre needs a refresh! I'm sick of farming sims.
I so agree on needing games other than farming sims! These CANNOT be the only fun mechanics we could be exploring here lol. I love the idea of a fashion magazine themed game, maybe it's my love for The Devil Wears Prada or too many hours gawking at Pat McGrath's makeup looks from the Maison Margiela show talking here but it sounds so appealing! I'm also convinced we could use more games focusing on interior decorating, personally I got eaten alive by the Animal Crossing New Horizons Happy Home Paradise.
Edit: this is how I found out Potion Craft came to Switch! I'll have to pick that up, had my eye on it since early access on Steam!!
yes!! like there’s got to be some other things we can be doing than farming all the time. i’d loveee more interior decorating games, that sounds amazing
the star clippies are everything ✨
thank youu 💞💞💞
You should totally do a video where you share your game collection! I would love to see what you’ve purchased and what’s on your radar.
this is such a good idea!
Omgggg, I'm so glad it's not just me who wants a diplomatic princess game (with drama too, cuz yes) 😭😭😭😭
I felt the same about Palia, I never managed to get hooked for any longer than in bursts of 10 minutes😢 but Fashion Dreamer and style savvy are soo comfy.. I also so agree that we need more cozy games that aren't farming!! I would love to play them more if there were just more unique premises
I want a witch like game like where the animation style is like fea farm but you can design your city or town like in animals crossing also you could search for town people looking for homes, and also get to design housing and shop. Where we can work as a potion maker as a job to make money within the game, but you can also accept quest from customers for even more money if you succeed. Like fighting dragons, evil wizards ect. And you can go to like a forest area and collect items or creatutes you need for your potions. I have so many cool gaming ideas but unfortunately getting into game building is hard. You usually have to know somebody already in the industry.
I adore Palia, although I've only played it on pc and I expect the performance and bugs might be more of an issue on switch. But the lack of limitation on you like in other farming sims is exactly what I love so much about it. Not having to worry about stamina or limited time to get everything done is super freeing imo and lets me spend more time just appreciating the environments or goofing around with friends instead of feeling pressured to keep progressing all the time.
What's the game that you're talking about here:
12:40
Coral island sounds so good 🥹
we're so excited to plant trees with youuu! 💚🌳
this hairstyle look is everything!!! 🥰
thank you!! 💞
I would love style boutique to come to switch! I absolutely loved that game.
Glad to see that this genre is blowing up!!! How do you designate certain games for "cozy"?
Usually they are meant to relax, not much battling , no worrying about lives ,farming, growing animals. Just something that has no suspense just soothing stuff. That's a cozy game
So sorry to hear about witchy life story! I recently bought and it hasn’t really grabbed me but I was hoping it would get better.
The game I have been obsessed with lately is Book of Hours. I think it might only be on steam though. I find it cozy and love the soundtrack. It give me Strange Horticulture vibes.
that sounds delightful! i’ve added it to my list to play next! ty 💞
You had me a merfolk when it came to Coral Island.
Monica! Im waiting for your spring cleaning video. Can’t wait for your next video and book haul
yes to other settings for farming sim games! your fashion magazine idea would be super fun, i hope someone makes that some day. i’ve always thought a game where you run a bakery would be cute ☺️
YAS! I love my farming sims but please expand the palette!!!!
Thank you, I will be adding Coral Island to my wish list.
Great cozy channel! :) And love hearing your thoughts on these games
I really need to pick up the switch again! Been reading more but I do miss playing a game. Coral Island and Potion Craft look like my cup of tea for sure. I was playing at lot of My Time at Portia but need a change. I realised yesterday that Planet zoo is finally on ps5. So that’s highly tempting as I’ve wanted to play it for ages. Loved planet coaster.
ohh would def recommend potion craft if you’re looking for a change of pace from portia! 💞
I think there are a few games which are cosy kinda games and based around princesses but I agree I would love something that did this and more variety more! I've not played any of these yet so I can't speak to them actually being good or not but 'Princess Maker' and 'The Princess Guide' both focus on this I believe and are on Switch. I also really love the Atelier games which sees you play as a young girl who is running an alchemy shop but has some relationship and battle elements too - no farming though! I suspect PC might be where you'll find more variety though.
You have some fantastic ideas for cozy gaming. I don’t know how you would do it because I’m quite new to Nintendo Switch and this genre of gaming but perhaps you could pitch some of this to some of the companies so the developers can actually pay you for your ideas and create some of these games.
PRINCESS 👏 GAME 👏 PLEASE
thank you for making me long for something i didn't even know i want 😭
I've really been loving Fae Farm recently - it is another farming sim, yes, but there's a lot of great quality of life updates compared to other games (for example, it auto-switches your tools for you!) that makes it feel less stressful than other farming games. I also love that there are diverse body shapes, you can choose any pronouns, and of course the best part - you get to have fairy wings!! My main complaint is that the dialogue is a bit meh, and the romanceable characters feel very limited (i believe theres 6 options). But if you want a really good zone-out farming sim that has a magical fantasy twist, I think this is a great option! It is pretty expensive tho so Id suggest waiting for a sale.
Adding Coral Island to my wish list. 😍
There is an old school game called princess maker. That is exactly as you describe.
You nailed it about palia. I definitely got bored so quickly. It was cool for a bit, but it definitely didn't hook me.
I’ve been patiently waiting for a cozy game set in a city. So tired of these islands and villages.
Loved hearing your thoughts on these games. I've been really wanting to play Coral Island, but I told myself I would wait to buy it after they update it more. Hearing your review makes me want to play it so much more though!!😆
I'm so eager to play Fashion Dreamer - it sounds like a perfect zone-out game (one of my faves is Powerwash Simulator!). I really love cute little puzzle games. I'm not sure if this is out on Switch, but The Shape of Things is super fun and really relaxing. Definitely a good one to play before bed. Also, if you don't mind something a little creepy and odd, Birth is another fun and short puzzle game that is supposedly coming to Switch soon!
I do recommend it only if you know you enjoy fashion games because it’s kinda all you do since there’s not much of a story but perhaps you should wait for a sale or something. There still adding items to the game though
@@Deedeedoodad thanks for your input! I'm definitely waiting on a sale because it does seem pricey for what it is. Also heard they're updating it, so I will probably hold off for a while.
I need you to get into the gaming industry and develop those games you were pitching. Let me know when the kickstarter drops 😅
Thank you for the insight, the potion game sounds right up my alley! And girl, your earrings! May I ask, where you got them from? They are everything! 🌸🦋
ty! they’re from faeriedustcrafts on ig 💞
@@cozymonica Thank you, girl 💞😺
Hey Monica! Love you videos, wish they had time stamps though! 💕
I like games where you’re not locked to a gender, and where you can create to your heart’s content about who you want to be and who you are. Like I got Moonstone island and your character looks like a female, I love diversity of characters and being able to be myself in game.
You should try playing Fire Emblem 3 Houses
Is coral island finally out on switch then? About time lol
It’s not sadly 😢 I got so excited when she said that 😅
it’s coming soon!! sorry i feel so bad i got people excited about it being out already bc i accidentally dropped the clip where i said i played it on pc and as a switch demo from a dev friend 😭
Wait, coral island is released on Switch now??
oh god i just realized i cut the clip where i said i played that on on pc/through a friend’s early access switch code. 🥲 it’s coming very soon soon tho from what i understand.
@@cozymonica Ohh, I panicked and thought I missed the Switch release or that it was just released in NA region 😅 I've been so tempted to buy it on PC but I want it on Switch more~
hii~!! I just stumbled on your channel and I’m glad I did!! you give really cozy vibes and I can just listen to this while I’m at work (like currently 😂)
tho it was a short game, I did enjoy a witchy story, but like you I’m not sure if I’ll play again-if I do it won’t be till I’ve forgotten most of the story 😭😂 i did enjoy my time playing but the romance wasn’t really… romancing 😂
the game I’ve been playing so much these days is potion permit!! literally can’t explain how much I adore this game right now, but it has taken over my heart these days (*´꒳`*)🤍✨ thank you so much for reading and I’m about to binge watch your channel ٩( 'ω' )و✨
i originally recommended you palia when it first released, but now i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. it has so many issues, bugs have been there since day one that they haven't fixed and instead released more, the social aspect is almost non-existent, forced interaction like needing others to cut trees down is lame, and now they kinda hide that they're in early access still. ugh im sorry. I have so much to say about that game lmao
Paliagot boring to me swell. Also not giving clues. I am running all over not knowing where to go complete the task
All Atelier games are cozy, no one ever mentions them!
I completely disagree, they're JRPG's at their core and are very stressful IMHO. I got to a point in Atelier Ryza where I could not continue because the combat was just too difficult and as a working adult I don't have the time and energy to grind combat. Aesthetically and story wise the games should be right up my alley but I just think they're too hard for casual gaming. Skill issue maybe haha, but they're definitely more niche.
Palia is amazinggg and worked really well for me - What is everyone's Palia username?! (Canadian & USA only)
Hi 🥰 I love your content dear lemne start with that!
I also played Lil witch story and I think it was good but indeed very short🥲 I liked the art style and the sort of "memory" vibe to it. For me the writing was fine, it wasn't mind blowing or anything, but you know... 😅 It made me giggle a bit here and there. I just wish it was longer and actually had replay value which it truly doesn't, even if the game suggests otherwise. The potential was there to make this game longer and more "deep" (some of those character had interesting backstories and I feel like the mayor's story was meant to be more "supernatural", but weirdly it feels like they kinda gave up/ran out of budget? and gave us a game that is very surface level. They could have done so much more in terms of using different types of crafts and witchy activities.
So yeah this game was fine, but felt like it was short and... that ending... Nah.🫠
(I bought it with my nintendo points on discount, basically cost me $3 canadian and truly, as you said, $5 max for such a short game is enough.)
