He is so correct, I took a year gap because I thought I could easily get a cloud solution architect job with out a degree and through hard work, until I realized no it’s extremely hard and would take years of experience with out a degree; now I’m a junior with a dual major in information technology and finance it’s hard. Although I’ve been able to net work way easier through this route. Already have an internship at Amazon for a Solutions architect this summer thanks to my majors.
Lucky bastard
@@imt3206 lolll thank, but I had to work my ass off doing a dual major and working to pay rent and school unfortunately my parents didn’t have a ton of money saved for school but I did get a lots scholarships to help me; but fortunately I live in Canada so school won’t cost me my organs lol.

Is IT easy/fun? I'm comp sci and thinking about switching
my left ear enjoyed this
I was sussing my headset here
Everybody and their mother wants to be a damn engineer today
I don’t
Yeah making 150-200k at 21/22
It is a very oversaturated field
Engineers help pave the way
@@mercedesjordan2206 every field is lmao literally 1984
Smart. 👍🏽
i want to go into STEM for the money
bio is boring
chem is boring and confusing
physics is interesting but can be very difficult
compsci involves a lot of critical thinking and problem solving but you can do a lot of cool things with it
mathematics is, well, hard, but applicable to many useful things in life if u really practice and put in the effort to understand it
Don't go into STEM for the money. If it's not something you're passionate about, you will feel unfulfilled and unhappy with your career.
stem is hard asf if you aren’t interested in it don’t do it you will inevitably give up and have wasted a shit ton of money. if you’re not sure go to a community college for a year and see if any of the gen ed courses pique your interest and then go to uni for whatever you like
Definitely
Definitely
I took bio because it was the only subject I was good at 😅😅
Not all majors other than anything in stem have a salary of 40k-50k a lot of it is higher than that. Also depending what degree you’re going for im assuming it all depends
I don't know but been all the time, i was a science student, did my A level and all science subjects(and math too) got the highest grade which is A, but ended up I'm doing a actuarial science major... Doubting my choice sometimes
Is taking science as major a bad choice?? Cause I have to choose a major now nd I don't know what to choose
@@spoorthy6154 Choose computer science 👍🏼
I am an actuary. Dont doubt. With Machine Learning and stuff actuaries are highly demanded right now.
@@transgendermacaroni9550 should i rake computer science?is it worth it?
@@woebegone1932 yaa it is
Ye I just can't comprehend stem subjects tho, too dumb for that 😂
Same man😭
No one is to dumb. Just gotta put in the effort.
You gotta treat it like a job. Put in some effort from 9 to 5 and you will never fail a class
Good
@@jamesa.646 false. Basket cases do exist
He completely forgot Law degrees which aren’t stem but have good job prospects
True.
law degrees are very oversaturated rn
you can say that for anything tho @@youremytear5658
'What's your major 🤓 àhèaheaheahe"
Business Economics, get yourself that umbrella and you’re open to a lot of good paying jobs
MBA too
Yup he was just ignorant stem major lol stem is already dead in many countries. Business and Economics majors are the most highest paying and 110% worth it.
@@nycto16 according to who lol
@@BusinessGoat99 according to a lot of resources and by my common sense, because you only need common sense to understand this.
@@nycto16 What positions specifically in bus/econ make more than new grad for software engineers?
the thing what im doing is, im doing a non stem degree because i wanna get in that field anyway. but i still like web dev. although i dont wanna waste my time studying things i dont need for web dev, ive had that experience when i was in stem .
im on the 10th part yet still no education majors
I wish people went to Hendrix and did this, our university isn’t popular but super goos
100% agree
Stem is the only way to go
Not if you hate stem
What if you're too dumb to understand it
Not necessarily thoughhh
Not at all lol
Yes you're right
It’s the money! Honey got it.
Engineering you need more than just 4 years for a bunch of places. I know of bunch engineering who don’t use their degree or can’t find a job in their degree. My one friend had to get an engineering masters just to find a job and he had at least 2 years of work experience pre masters degree. Most of these people only decline unpaid internships for money reasons. Just putting your degree and experience using microsoft office isn’t enough.
i mean yeh you probs arent gonna be a full working engineer after degree, maybe trainee
I actually like math and chem and stem subjects. but no jobs where I live unless you go for computer
where do you live ? im pretty sure you can do civil or structural engineering instead of computer if you want. there will always be jobs for them
@@lemonstrangler 3rd world country. I ended up doing pharmacy 😮💨
I think besides engineering, truthfully communications (and all of the sub field degrees) is a true safety net degree. It opens many doors and if you do a BS, it could be worth every penny
Lol I ain’t paying 100k
college is well over 100k
@@samanthadiior not if you get scholarships or go somewhere more affordabel
@@samanthadiior I pay $2000 a semester not bad considering I make $2000/biweeekly as an engineering intern... Yup not even graduated
@@chloeanderson2658 what's "affordable" without having to pay student loans?
@@camibabyy That's great! However not everyone is as lucky. Minimum wage up where I am is $14 and making more than $2000 biweekly is normal. Things are so expensive like college and school books that even with a high minimum wage, college is still unaffordable even if it's more affordable than most and most people will end up with tons of student loans. I think it's great you chose engineering though haha, I could never so kudos!
my country public universities provide the best and almost free education.
i mean you should do it if you know u wanna do it too. i know people from stem fields struggling to get a job. and then they do masters and no job again lol
I agree.
4 years yeah right lol
Yes 4 years what's so funny ? It depends on which country you live in , in mine it takes 5 years . In the uk for example 4
well it depends. maybe hes trying to say it can take longer, its not so easy to just get a degree and get immediate employment@@rosie_rosey
My major is also computer engineering 🔥. Very doable (compared to other engineering degrees). Also, the salary is promising, and It is pretty exciting to deal with aspects of electrical and software engineering.
Did you learn boolean algebra
@@2kchallengewith4videoprobally first thing u learn
@@LucinaMeow Nice. Im in highschool learning boolean algebra despite wanting to be an ME major
@@2kchallengewith4video boolean algebra can be useful. It's bassicly the first thing electrical/computer engineering students learn. It's a pretty easy subject but can get harder once u go into HDL and FGPA design
@@LucinaMeow right now im learning the basics AND OR INVERTER logic gates and making the schematics and truth tables.
and what about law?
well he did say a 4 yr degree
What kinda school are you going to to be paying 100k😭
An American one (100k before scholorships for all four years is cheap for us)
Personally for me, I’d never pay 100k just for school. 😂
dude i dont think you need to pay that much
law isnt stem and its still high paying
but not everyone can be a lawyer right? its quite a long process the education so you have to be sure its what you want. its good if thats your dream tho, definietly seems rewarding
What about blue collar trade college?
Ever heard of Business and Economics??? Worth way more than any STEM.
@Nicholas Small Yeah... Business is the highest paying field someone can choose as their major.
@@nycto16 Business does not compete with engineering. Also the generic business degrees won't get you far unless you have a 4.0 gpa in finance or a master's degree. Even after all that you will make less than a mechanical, chemical, computer or software engineer.
Engineering degrees salaries are higher, especially starting salary
@@FelixIsLosing For the most part you're right. Engineers make a greater median salary than any business major, but the earning potential of business majors is much greater. It just depends on university and the connections you have.
@@FelixIsLosing lol engineering is so low paying specially mechanical and chemical, computer sucks. Not only finance, almost every business major makes a lot. Every engineer makes less than any type of manager either marketing, finance, supply chain, mis etc.
He’s dead wrong lmao. In state fees in Florida are at most 3k a semester. That’s maybe 20-25k to graduate. Nowhere near 100k lmao
I live in Texas and pay like 9k for a semester. Doesn’t include meal plans and dorm. So really depends on the location
depends on the school
