Yes... But say it with Conviction...
no please dont make that mistake of saying that u were preparing only for cat. it is always recommended to do some extracurriculars(like volunteering, internships or take up an online course )

Hi Sir.. I graduated from IIT Roorkee with a Masters in Biotechnology in April 2023. After that I fell ill for 3 months and was quite confused whether to join a PhD in Biotechnology or not. Eventually after evaluating my options I felt a PhD in Biotechnology will not give me better career options in India. Recently I decided to pursue MBA and thus have started preparing for CAT 2024. Can you suggest me what I can say in the interview to justify this gap year and what relevant skills I can gain during this short period?

Hello ronak sir. I have completed my bcom degree in 2023 . After that i have attempted cat 23 2nd time yes that was my 2nd attempt but i have decided to go for iims . Bcz it was my father dream but i was diagnosed with stomach ulcer in july 2023 and pcod in October 2023 but didn't left cat preparation bcz i thought sayad iim nikl jaye but mental health deteriorate day by day and gave cat and xat only but didn't receive any calls. My mother is not allowing me for night shift job . I have my ayurvedic medicine going on daily on day. What should i do
1.Should i go for part time job and work on skills
2. Do internship
3. Full time job

Graduated in the year 2022 .After graduation I was working on my research paper so didn't get much time to prepare for cat 22 .Started my cat preparation afterwards from Dec 22 and gave cat 23 but due to quant this year I didn't get a very good percentile but cleared cutoff for IIM CAP interview. Go for CAT'24 and in my opinion don't waste your time on CMAT and start your CAT'24 preparation right away. If you need more assistance you can ask me.

Siso, you literally made me laugh 😂😂😂, thanks. You've just completed your graduation last year and you're saying that it's too much gap..! It's not even a gap in the first place if you've given CAT 23, but since you've missed it, Focus on CAT24. Yes, now it'll be like a gap year of 1-2, since you'll be joining the session in 2025 if you've cleared CAT24.
MAJORITY OF THE STUDENTS HAVE A GAP YEAR OF 1-2 & ABOVE, MAJORITY OF THEM..! Ha, a gap year of 3 and above is terrific and you've to explain the reason for it..!
Here's a short story, my friend passed his graduation in June 2020, gave CAT22 and joined the session of 2023, and technically he had a gap year of 3 before joining the college, but he managed it with his CAT Score & Strong Reasons for 3 year GAP. He's now in IIM Calcutta, the 3rd best IIM in India. Beleive in yourself, A good CAT score can fetch you a top IIM, even with a gap.
Yours isn't a big gap, you can leap further. Good Luck ❤
