I’m all for people selling fan art at fairs, local shows, etc! Etsy technically does not allow it so it really shouldn’t be done but so many people do it…but fan art (what you do) is so different than taking someones straight out art and slapping it on something and selling it (which is not what you do) - so keeo on going - I just found your vlogs and love them!!! 💜

I think you are awesome! Crochet merch would be great! I'm so glad you shared your ultrasound with that woman. People need to be educated! Possuums are great animals and will eat all the bad stuff, ticks and snakes. They are clean. They don't play dead, they have anxiety and it makes them pass out!.

Yes! When you were talking about the copyright things, I literally have been trying to sell all mine becasue I do not want to get in trouble! I believe I only have one Pokeball left, but I am really hiping to get rid of it asap lol. I know how you are feeling!!! It is so frusterating!! I have definitely stayed away from all characters, but there have been a few that I couldn't resist because I knew they would sell😬😂
Ugh I just loveeee Halloween so I feel like I need to make some one off Halloween characters to sell😅 BUT I SWEAR IM TRYING
@MadebyMandaMal I actually don't celebrate Halloween, so mine is mainly Disney characters lol. But Disney is super crazy about copyright, so I definitely have to watch that. Yeah, usually, I just use patterns and try to do different colors, add some extra things, or take away things 😅

I totally get it. I had an event like that myself and literally only made $15. There wasn't a fee, but each month we went it got worse and worse, so we're not going to do that one anymore. There are plenty of others to do! Also, glad your kitty is getting better!!

Ah the live and learn in crochet with copyright!
I also just had live and learn in the UK and found out last month about UKCA testing. It seems that any of these kinds of things (Even if intended for older kids/adult collectors) in the UK need to be chemically tested, lit on fire, and then twisted through clamps for torque and poked and prodded....in order to legally sell them we need toy safety testing technical files for each model. :-(
It's put a huge damper on my will to craft right now while I figure out the rules and eventually order a home-testing kit. Makes me wish I was back in the states where it isn't quite as strict for small businesses starting out!

I don’t know if it helps (or just makes me weird too) but I call my dog my fur baby 😂 love the ultrasound pic, nice touch. I’m a midwife and when I was in school for that my cat had 6 kittens so I was a midwife to a cat! I hope your events are better in the future. I’m still about a month out from my first event fingers crossed 🤞 it’s a good one.

My top two pet peeves at events are when 1) people moon over my plushies and say how beautiful my work is but NEVER buy anything
And 2) when people walk by, say "oh i crochet!" Then just keep walking. How do you deal? Cuz i always get my feelings hurt
My least favorite is when people come by and they’re like “omg you could make these!” Talking to whoever they’re with it’s so awk😅 I try to just brush it off and remember the times people moon over my plushies and DO buy stuff. especially the stories about how people are buying for their sick family members etc.. those warm my heart back up💕

I bought a pricing gun after watching your market prep video! I love it, but I have trouble removing the tag since it pulls out the stuffing when I do. Does it happen to you? How can we avoid that? thanks :) Love your videos!
So happy you’re enjoying it! I just try to cut the tags when possible to avoid worrying about messing with the stitches/stuffing and I try to tell customers to do the same!!

? Can you tell me a little more about the copyright issue? I just started doing amogurimi and I wanted to reopen my Etsy shop but I don’t want any issues with that if you know what I mean. I’ve been seeing where people are having their Etsy shops deactivated for cr issues. I also have a lot of vintage crochet patterns & I wonder if I can sell digital copies? Please advise whatever info u have. I would appreciate it so much. I am 71 and just want o make some extra money. Thx.
You can sell digital patterns if it’s your own pattern but you can still get in trouble from companies if it’s perceived as a copyright character/item. I’ve heard big have brands gone after small creators for selling copyrighted items on Etsy etc.. lots of info about it with some google searches! Good luck

I take care of them as I would children. People that disparage pet parents make me a bit angry too. I do not “own” my cats. (I am not an owner, I am a parent)

WILL DO LOL I’ve been doing events for about a year now.. some are big some are small. When I first started I only did smaller ones for the first few months to find my footing but once you do a few you’ll have it down! Farmers markets, restaurants, animal shelter fundraising events tend to be smaller in my opinion! GOOD LUCK!
