Great intro discussion on trust. Related, I've seen a rapid shift in Google search results over the past several months. For many of my searches, I get an AI-generated response using up much of the above-the-fold real estate. Then, there are the remaining page-one results. After sponsors, what were once brand blog posts/top 10 lists/thought leadership is now more likely to be Reddit or Quora threads on related topics. It makes sense that user-generated content on forums is more trustworthy. After all, many content marketers create top 10 lists as a hook to rank better on SEO. Consumers (or, at least, Google) know that so much of content marketing is BS, unoriginal, recycled, and potentially misleading. It's challenging to continue building trust with buyers. My current approach involves relying more on expert opinions, publishing proprietary data and research, ensuring my content offers unique value, and participating in community conversations as my authentic self.
