Fun fact: John wasn't actually alive in 1985, let alone able to read a newspaper. ALSO > What are you hoping to see from the face-lifted model later this year??
Better tyres made a massive difference to my OG i30N: got PS4S tyres and they transformed the car. The Pirellis were axle tramping in even slightly damp roads; the Michelins eradicated that virtually completely.
There is no artificial sound in this car whatsoever and induction along with turbo spool can be easily heard when changing air filter to aftermarket. Wheel hop and traction for that matter can be fixed by changing to Michelin P4S and upgrading gearbox mount to Powerflex, sound system on the other hand is on the lower end, anyway, decent review.
There is a sound generator in the car, and it can only be disabled by physically disconnecting it. Well documented on the interwebs. I haven't done it yet, but apparently makes a big difference to how the car sounds, in a good way!
I take my comment back, apparently you are correct. I didn't know that there is some vibrator under the hood, for that matter I wouldn't call it active sound generator via speakers, but nevertheless there is one.
Enjoyable watch, always had a soft spot for the i30n Performance, and do love that colour scheme! Might have to get myself a test drive booked in! Will you be reviewing the i20n too at any point?
Good review, not that I needed it as I've owned my N beast for two years now! In regards to the wheel hop you mentioned, change from Pirelli P Zeros to another performance tyre like Michelin PS4s or Goodyear Asymmetric is a great start. Actual mods, you'd want to replace the upper engine and upper gearbox, and both of the lower engine torque mount bushings with the purple Powerflex ones help massively. Lastly RPM Performance do wishbone reenforcement that just bolt on. All of these will practically eliminate the wheel hop

Either way, great video, John! Keep it up!

@@Currrn No, there isn’t. Remember that we are talking about i30 N here. I own one, but please correct me with a source of yours from Internet

@@reveobscurLooking to buy an i30N in a year or so, how highly would you recommend it? And what’s the thing you hate the most about it?
Ah ha! Great intel, it had us fooled!
Brilliant Video! Have any info on when they will reveal the facelift?
Thanks Paulo. We predict it’ll be sometime between September and November but that’s just an ‘educated guess’.
Isn't this a facelift?

Thanks, Simon. Yes we may indeed have a play with the i20N… watch this space
