A 4 piece band sounding like an orchestra! Unmatched and was lucky enough to have lived in Seattle in 1980s and 90s. Saw them for cheap. Bar to bar in beginning then venue to venue. Was the most fun I've had! Seattle was buzzing back then! Music heaven! 💞✌
I saw them and had goosebumps with every song! Jerry's voice compliments Layne voice so well! I lived in Seattle and was lucky enough to see the great bands. Stood outside The Moore listening to them sing this song. Couldn't get in at that time.
It was the best time for music lovers. Pearl Jam, AIC, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and many more. My favorite poster I ripped from a poll. Was The Butthole Surfers! Then saw Eddie had the same poster I saw in a clip. Walking down the street, every bar or theater had a band playing and they would at times play together. It was electric and exciting. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan for $7 and he blew our minds! The most fun in my life!
Love Hate Love live at the Moore is UNTOUCHABLE PERFECTION performed live by a rock band. All other rock bands should strive to have a live performance this perfect. Actually this is not 1992. Even at the end of his life, with no teeth and a lisp, his voice, wit and humor were all still there. Layne's voice and vocal range was so powerful he did NOT need auto tune or pro-tools until he lost his teeth and had a lisp around 1998, and even then he still killed the vocals. Barrett Martin (who played with Layne in Mad Season) said that when he stood to the side of the stage, he could hear the sound of Layne vocal resonance come out of Layne's chest LOUDER than it did coming out of the speakers, Layne's voice was that powerful.
Nancy Wilson of Heart said she had never heard anyone like Layne, she said music exploded out of him, not just from the microphone but he literally shock the stage and performers would gather at the sides of the stage because of his shear unmatched power. She also said singers like him only come around once in a lifetime if your lucky…and she has killer pipes herself✝️✝️✝️
Hey man! Great reaction! Just a note, AIC still tours, just with a new lead singer, William DuVall. He's not Layne, but he holds his own. I'm going to see them next month here in MN. See if they're coming near you, they still got it. Cheers!
I felt the same way you did when I first saw this performance. It blew my mind. Now it's my go to video when I need a pick up. Miss the Original Alice in Chains!!!
David Bovey Whats Up David. I can’t thank you enough for this man absolutely phenomenal. Definitely one of the best all time performances. Not just vocally but over all. Hope the graphic novel is coming along well. Have a great weekend
Glad you enjoyed it bro! Gives me chills every time I watch this performance. It’s a great song, but one that just got taken to another level live. Working on that graphic novel as I was listening to your reaction. :)
fuuuuuk!....definitely one of those wish you were theres....I never got to see them either, and I've never seen this clip before....holy shit....what a performance....
This was a great reaction! :) Would love to see you react to other songs from this Live at the Moore show, if you haven’t yet watched the whole thing. Every song they performed that night is fantastic.. Esp. Bleed the Freak, Real Thing and Man in the Box.
Entire performance (all the songs from this set) - fucking flawless. You can tell just by watching……he means & feels every word. This song, although sounds a little ‘off’- it’s perfect b/c it’s what makes it soooo haunting and hard hitting. I get chills every time he starts ‘you told me Im the only one’….he sings with his entire body.
0:00 I’ve seen David Bovey on the comment section of another video before! I don’t know which video it was, but I know it wasn’t on this channel. What a coincidence that I’ve read one of his comments AND seen him on a video.
Yesssssssssss. So fucking happy you did this. You're right, one of the all time best performances. Confirmed my suspicion as well. That ending is just...my head exploded when I saw this a few years ago. This whole set is incredible, I recommend you watch more of it on your free time or even do another reaction (Man in the Box, It Ain't Like That, Bleed the Freak, etc..) This blew up when I was 23 and our generation was forever changed greatest vocalist still listening everyday for the last 30 yrs lol I’ll never stop
RIP Layne Staley! Never another like you
weezor11 11 Never. One of a kind
Hey man! Great reaction! Just a note, AIC still tours, just with a new lead singer, William DuVall. He's not Layne, but he holds his own. I'm going to see them next month here in MN. See if they're coming near you, they still got it. Cheers!
Robinsos79 Awesome man thanks for the heads up🤘 Have fun at the show
I felt the same way you did when I first saw this performance. It blew my mind. Now it's my go to video when I need a pick up. Miss the Original Alice in Chains!!!
saw them at the clash of the titans, slayer - anthrax - megadeth and alice in chains. They were absolutely phenomenal !!!!!! Rest in peace LS
Best reaction to this on the tube. This is such a epic performance
Best reaction I’ve seen to this. Love it ❤️❤️
Grunge had some amazing vocalists for sure. The Bb Layne hits in this song with distortion and vibrato is nuts. His vocal control is insane.
The first time I heard this song in 93 or close to that I played in on repeat all day. I couldn't get enough.
My favourite band & an awesome reaction 👍 much love from Scotland ✌
Top reaction for a top notch song Dylan, regards!
Julio Agosto 🤘🤘🤘🤘
BEST VOCALIST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!
Bro your reaction brought back some feels for me, thank you
Eyesee Delight 🤘
Does not get any better.
David Bovey Right on 🤘
fuuuuuk!....definitely one of those wish you were theres....I never got to see them either, and I've never seen this clip before....holy shit....what a performance....
This was a great reaction! :) Would love to see you react to other songs from this Live at the Moore show, if you haven’t yet watched the whole thing. Every song they performed that night is fantastic.. Esp. Bleed the Freak, Real Thing and Man in the Box.
Love this version, you can feel the pain and His pasion
Entire performance (all the songs from this set) - fucking flawless. You can tell just by watching……he means & feels every word. This song, although sounds a little ‘off’- it’s perfect b/c it’s what makes it soooo haunting and hard hitting. I get chills every time he starts ‘you told me Im the only one’….he sings with his entire body.
Had to watch this reaction again, you’re a genuine dude brotha! Awesome channel!!
Cheers from Texas!!
Dominic Cerna Whats Up Dominic I see ya🤘 Cheers from Cali🍻
Dude- they have ALWAYS been my favorite band, since they came out! Still holds true. Nobody like them.
The best band of the grunge era and it isn’t close.
Absolutely!
This performance could not be improved upon. Enjoyed your commentary/insights.
My favourite reaction video to this song ! Just straight and honest👏
I can't get bored of Love Hate Love ✌️️
Alice in Chains - Sludge Factory (MTV Unplugged 1996). Layne was frail at this point but his vocals were INCREDIBLE.
Rest easy, Layne!
0:00 I’ve seen David Bovey on the comment section of another video before! I don’t know which video it was, but I know it wasn’t on this channel. What a coincidence that I’ve read one of his comments AND seen him on a video.
SmileyFace Channel it’s a small world after all. Guys an incredible artist working on his own graphic novel 🤘
Cool!
Loved your reaction! It was just like mine the first time I watched it!
Your enthusiasm is fuckin infectious mate, solid work as always. Much love from Australia brother 🤘
Adam R Cheers from the US Adam🤘🍻
Yesssssssssss. So fucking happy you did this. You're right, one of the all time best performances. Confirmed my suspicion as well. That ending is just...my head exploded when I saw this a few years ago. This whole set is incredible, I recommend you watch more of it on your free time or even do another reaction (Man in the Box, It Ain't Like That, Bleed the Freak, etc..)
You have to do Where Dragons Dwell by Gojira live at Hellfest 2013. Another one of the all time great performances, easily. Cheers dude.
Brahm Tancredi Right on man thanks for the feedback I’m definitely going to check out more from AIC no question. And Gojira’s Where Dragons Dwell live at Hellfest 2013? For sure man just a matter of time🤘🤘🤘
Layne motherfucking Staley. One of the all-time greats.
Hell, AIC is one of THE greatest bands ever, and they're still going strong today.
AIC is, and will always be one of the greatest bands EVER. I saw them in '92 here in Indianapolis, Indiana , I had only heard man in the box a couple times on the radio. Their performance was awesome. Layne Staley is so very missed in this world. Will never be another like him. This is my favorite song ❤️
Now THAT’S what I call a reaction!
