  • In this video I am trying to show you how the car tyre low speed ride. The conclusion that this is safe on low speed. But I still recommend you to use the motorcycle tyre.

    I put on a car tire for the first time, I went with a tire as close to the factory spec tire as possible. 3000 miles so far ,after 1 day riding no difference at all

    Great attitude! It's been proven that CT's and MT's are both safe. Ride whichever suits your riding style and personality.

    Hi
    Do you have to use a smaller sized car tire or the same size as your MC tire would work?
    Thanks.

    What is the car tyre size? Do you need to add spacer

      No spacer. it is 205mm wide. as far as I remember.

      @@DenysDavydov I thought about doing the same thing a few years ago but I think that the motor will slip on wet or loose surfaces

      No i used the same wheel. Many suggested a 205 for a vtx but i found its too tight, a 195 is better but harder to find. I actually like the way it drives. The handling is great, its just at high speed its not as good. Since my average speed is in the 70 miph, then its ok.

      No it doesn't slip at all. The grip is great even in turns. Just make sure its not a too square tire at the tread. When i bought my valkyrie, it came with a car tire. Its so square that you feel it more, it want to stay straight up. My tire on the vtx doesn't because its rounded at the treat. Again the grip is great, even on wet grass, i feel safer

    What i found with a car tire is that around 102 to 105 miles an hour, the motorcycle handle start wobbling dangerously. I in crease the tire pressure to 45 psi and helped but not best. Its a high speed tire i installed but for motorcycle its not high speed.

    • @corneilcorneil
      @corneilcorneil 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What is the reason for the wobble? There are more factors than only the CT.

    • @sylvainmorin7497
      @sylvainmorin7497 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not sure. At 35 psi it wobbles more. Im at 42 psi now. Not sure if i should increase the psi but as for now, im good

      Speculating from other youtube video of darksiding motrocycle, one of the draw back is the car tire tends to follow the "groove" of the road more so than your input. So for example if you go into a rut, the car tire would stay in the rut because of wider foot print. At high speed, you're traveling more distance per second so you will feel the road "groove" more. By increasing the PSI, the actual contact patch on the car tire decrease and thus it follows the road groove or rut less and responding better to your input.

      car tire is harder to balance the bike tire, bike tires are made with higher quality compared to car tire, balance the car tire more effectively and it will stop the wobble.
