My son went to buy an advertised $54,000 car, the salesman printed up a contract for $67,000. My son started to walk out so the salesman chased him down and sold it to him at the advertised price, of course before taxes. I couldn’t be a car salesman.

My used jeep I bought last Oct started making differential noise before I even got it home. Brought it to the closest dealer since I got a service contract and the local dealer said that because it has non-factory wheels and tires the warranty company won’t honor the warranty, even though it is a drivetrain warranty. There was a box on the warranty form (left unchecked) that said the wheels and tires were modified and covered. Don’t trust any dealer. Ever.

Car manufacturers went too far designing cars that will fail, so that customers are forced to repair them regularly. Then the doubled the price of the vehicles. It will take some time for them to rebuild trust with customers.

If 72 % of dealers don't trust the company imagin how the employees who designed, built and tested the vehicles feel. Fired engineers no notice, laid off workers and closed facilities that were negotiated into the contract by the Union. Poor quality is directly tied to unhappy workers. If the company doesn't care about the worker the workers don't care about the company and it's products.

You backlash sales people who are trying to make a living, easy target…. What don’t you get your hand in the real dirt and talk about dealerships over charging the cost of repairs internally to reduce the front gross and the salesman commission?
    That’s a real dealership subject.
Recon cost is nowadays $750 for a key, $900 for 2 tires on small SUV’s, $2,000 for a Certified inspection ( plus cost of repairs, parts, labor).
In reality, it costs way less, but on paper you reduce the front official gross and by doing so the sales person commission.
    Pur scam.
Don’t be a hater on sales people, they are just doing their job: making profit for them and the company.
