I thought I saw you guys say Jeep raised prices by 61% in one video. They can certainly afford to move them back down by a good 40-45%. To me, this is what it will take to move them consistently or back to a normal pace if you will.
i worked for a guy when i kid and that's where i learned about markup, i couldnt' understand why he could mark things down 40,60,80% until i saw the invoices... it's like 100-150% markup, then a shady 20-30 percent 'sale' when you put the items out.
Considering the recalls, abysmal workmanship, and cheap materials, most of that unsold old stock is worth about $1 each. Add in the outrageous interest and insurance and you'd have to pay to get rid of them. Everyone is becoming Rivian/Fiskr before our eyes.
I think we’ve gotten to the point where the discounts are almost covering the dealer markup. Stelantis for example isn’t worth it at 18k off. I personally wouldn’t buy and they can go out of business. The times have changed, and now dealers are getting a taste of their own medicine. Profits are coming down and they deserve it
100%. Advertise HUGE, maybe historic level savings just to bait on an overpriced product. They are betting on the uneducated portion of the population to make bad choices, and unfortunately it worked for a bit (COVID years) but it wont last.
Dealerships used to have good mechanics... They failed to keep good talent that could fix increasingly complex vehicles and that should have been their real bread and butter. It starts with design. Make them easy to fix!
Guys when people are having a hard time keeping a roof over their heads and feeding the family because our salaries aren't keeping up cars are the last thing on peoples minds. A simple example is a bottle of 30oz Hellmans mayo is costing upwards of 12 bucks, it's outta control screw these manufacturers!!!!!!!
I’m a diehard Ford guy but if I could buy a new Jeep Gladiator with a manual transmission for $25k out the door I would buy it just to have a beater daily driver. That $25k includes all fees and taxes. Jeep dealers are you ready to sell yet?
I have no dog in this fight, as I won't purchase a vehicle until my current one is used up. Moderate driving and preventative maintenance results in miraculous savings and vastly extended mileage.
Im not seeing any revised MSRP stickers on any new Stalantis products. My guess is dealers will short change buyers and pocket the difference rather than advertising the actual revised MSRP. Some dealer franchises are being pulled back.
My last new car purchase price started with a 2. The second number was $4000 away from $30,000. That was in June of 2024. Great car. Reasonably priced. I needed one for almost 2 years, but I could and did wait until prices got to a point where I thought they were acceptable. It is an AWD smallish 2 row SUV and perfect for my needs. Well built, many safety and driver comfort features, with some that I am able to use daily while keeping the more obtrusive features off.

Sales should be at a rate of nearly 20 million.
It's been sitting on the lot for ~300 days at MSRP and ~11 days with 15% off MSRP. Incentives started late in 2024 so excess inventory is to be expected.
Carlos Tavares dealt a real death blow to Jeep when they eliminated the Cherokee and Renegade small CUV vehicles without updated versions or complete replacements. He thought he could elevate the Jeep brand into a luxury brand. I recommend that Jeep leadership look into bringing back the Jeep Liberty and Patriot to the North American Market immediate and eliminate the Gladiator and most of the Wrangler variants. The Wrangler / Gladiator platform needs to be reformulated with a larger boxier top hat like the Liberty or Patriot with a sub $30-$40K versions. They already have hybrid version of the Jeep powertrain. EREVs are what will sell versus Pure EVs because of the lengthy recharging times, range anxieties and lack of reliable charging stations.

I don't know if CJDR can sell a vehicle in the US as long as Stellantis has anything to do with it. They've stained the brand so badly.
