Hi, What an enjoyable interview with David. When the interview started I immediately thought I recognized the face. Although like us all, aged. Then his name was came up and that to I recognized from the early 1970's in PE. I thought to myself could it be. I nevertheless continued to watch the fascinating discussion. And then it was confirmed - David had been a Railways Apprentice Electrician at the PE Harbour. At the time I had acted in and was finally appointed in the Chief Electrical Engineer's Test Laboratory (between 1972 and 1978). My office was in the same building that housed the Workshop and Apprentice Training Section - so knew most of the Electical staff as well as apprentices.
Your discussion then deviates to Folk music and the mention of John Greg. Well at the time my wife worked at the AA - Automobile Association with a Mrs Larken - the mother of the singer Ken J Larken and working in the Maps Section of the AA was John Greg.
    Small world isn't it.
Please pass on my Best Wishes to David.
    Kind Regards
    John Hampson

Oh yes, the eyes of a child never see the whole picture, but they see a lot of truth. Thanks for your kind words.

Great idea on the koeksisters, try and get hold of my Mom, the koeksister Champion of South Africa. If you need a type of history on it.

Sounds like an excellent idea. Perhaps you could send me a message with some details? I think this would make a great episode.

This is a great idea for content! I’m a yank interested in SA culture and history (obviously) so any food related content would be great. Maybe a braii episode? Thanks and cheers.

@@JustOfftheHighway seeing that you in Vaalie land, have you considered trying fried Mopane worms? Just curious.

@@JustOfftheHighway You braver than I am 😂. One thing I have noticed over here. SA wines and cheeses are 100 times better. If you can, why don't you do a show on Fairview Wine farm in Paarl. When I was last there, the Cheese tasting and Wine tasting was absolutely out of this world. Show these overseas people what REAL Cheese and Wine looks like. I'm sure that you will have a great time. Best Wishes John M.

Lekker Snoek of Gelstert op die kole, net soos dit in die mooie Kaap gedoen word.

I thought this was something different. I loved the podcasts but this a waste of my time. Have unsubcribed.
