- Peterhead is the biggest settlement in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Fishing is the main industry in the town and it's the biggest fishing port in the UK. Locally Peterhead is called The Blue Toun.

I was stationed near here for 8 years in the 1980s. Very fond memories of it, its where I did a lot of growing up and learned a hell of a lot about love, life and people.

@@touringjapanukandbeyond Not on this occasion, no.. but you went past a lot of places where I remember there used to be bars, restaurants/cafes, etc and past a hotel that I once spent several months at and near an former girlfriend's flat... so lots of familiar places. And while some things have changed a lot, a lot of it hasnt changed at all....

That wooden boat hull @6:24 has been there for as long as I can remember! At least since my childhood. It might be a different hull, but it looks the same.

@@touringjapanukandbeyond I’m about 99.99% sure that it is the same one. At various times over the last 30 years that I can remember, I remember seeing a boat hull in that place and it always looked to be the same one.
Toilet , up there with the worst towns in the whole country.
Can’t comment on what it’s like to stay there but can say I have driven in worse looking places than Peterhead.
