Well, 'basically' you have got yourself a rather good van with 'basically' quite a lot of pluses, but 'basically' some minuses as well ‼️ (please do try and get out of that habit - it's 'basically' very annoying 😖) OAKTREE are a fantastic company who sell campers, but they also refurbish them bringing them up to a very good standard. I think you could do very well in just having them tidy up your electrics mess by having just one or two Power Packs, which would give you all the power you need and get all that frightful mess gone ‼️ You would obviously want to keep the solar power as backup for the TV and maybe the fridge ... I think a lot of the tidying up can be done yourself in the design department (wall decor, seat coverings, curtains etc) which could brighten up the place nicely. As regards the position of the TV, this depends on where you feel most comfortable to watch it ... just up to personal preference ... anyway, all in all I think you have got yourself a bargain, provided the mechanical side to the van does not let you down. Getting stuck on country lanes and having to be towed is not a good picture. Happy travels ...
Awesome video, I am actually picking up a 2005 LT tomorrow, it is 3000 quid but has a lot more rust and is no where as nice inside as yours also has only one solar panel. But maybe that extra 1000 might bring it up to half as nice as yours later on. Can't wait to watch more of your vids to see what you have been up to this last year...Ray
Hello mate, I've just bought an LT46 ex council disability van. I spent £1300 on mine. She has rusty wheel arches and two small rust holes in the floor towards the back. But all in all not too bad. I was like you and thought to myself, £1300 for a xlwb high top?? Yeah I'll have a roll of the dice on that..! it's going to be a lot of work but hopefully worth it as I hope to live in it full time at the end of it all. The money I save in rent can go towards a newer van down the line and I'll take all of the bits (solar panels, heaters etc) off and transfer them to the new one. Anyway seeing your video resonated with me and I had to let you know you're not alone lol and as you say with all the bits you got with it I'd say it's a bargain too!! I would like to ask you what the engine sounds like? Mine is a 2.4 on 180k and it sounds like a bag of spanners/bubble machine 😅 but still she pulls really well. Oh and has yours got mad gear ratios? Like on mine if you floored it in first gear you might get up to 3mph.. I know you don't hold first gear that long but it's crazy different to other van's I've driven. Cheers
You got the van for free, when you consider the cost of all those parts inside the camper. You can't get an LPG tank for less than £600. The toilet £300+. The electrics are over £1000. Water tanks £400. Plus you know all the little bits and pieces to make everything fit together costs hundreds.
That’s it 👌 long before buying this van I did my research on how much things would cost if I was to do my own van conversion and by doing that I came to the conclusion I couldn’t afford it. So glad I got this bus.
LOVED the video ...... massive amount of maintenance though. We run an Vivaro with a rock n roll bed...... that's it. We park anywhere , never had an issue ( just another builders van ) Saved a fortune on B and Bs. Keeping it simple works ace. Great channel, cheers from Cornwall.

It takes power from 240 from a house or a campsite and charges your batteries the second thing is an M PPT charger that converts the Sun power via the solar and charges your batteries

Have a sprinter on 2001 registration, recently passed the mot with 456.000 miles on it. They where built like tanks, just service them every 10,000 miles and they will go for ever. Hope you enjoy your travels. 👍
I’ve heard they’re pretty bullet proof, this one has plenty off pull and feels strong although I think due to the remap the flywheel is starting to rattle so stay tuned for that video 👌💸💸
price was ok for that milage but i got a 316cdi sprinter 2003 with 121,000 miles from new and its 6 birth with solar b2b charger 580ah of leisure batteries,underslung gas and water tanks,new diesel heater and 1 owner from new for 5k. ive spent another £3500 updating things like led lighting.side bars made to measure and pretty much everything else you got..i even had the original receipt from germany as it never came through a uk dealership and was bought specifically to make into a camper. and its been garaged for the past 12 years..happy days to both of us..but they are getting rare..we have the best engine too.2.7 l turbo 160 bhp as standard.
Looks like this van has some really expensive and top of the range equipment, slight shame about the craftsmanship of parts of the build. Awesome van for the money and with some TLC I'm sure you'll make it a sound investment that you can do some real exploring in. Thanks for the video, keep them coming, cant wait to see what improvements and modifications you do to it.

Underneath is free of rust. For now I aim to tidy up the electrics as well as cosmetically improve it. Maybe/ hopefully in time Il travel over to Europe…. Mainly Spain 🇪🇸

@BoHub Although later ones with common rail engines are not so reliable or bulletproof.

Since you’re in the trade, any idea on how and why the tire exploded? As a van live far I’m always worried about the tires, not constantly check them.

I’ve had a good look underneath and it’s solid, just the body work that’s shoddy 👍
Same with mine.. leaks from the windows rusted the floor a bit and the wheel arches are bad but underneath is solid! @@bohub
