I mean, if you look at the history you can be pretty much sure they'll be back in about 3-4 days, a week max. As long as we don't have hard authentication that stops botting at the human bottleneck, they'll always find workarounds to bypass the system.
I just started playing the game. Within 15 minutes I saw a pack of 25 characters walking on top of each other. Quit the game instantly. The bot issue is NOT solved.
Would have been better to acknowledge and fix the freeze, crash and d/c issues. In the 1 hour I was able to play yesterday. 2 crashes using my bifrost and 1 loading screen freeze.
Its actually kind of refreshing to see players around the town now lol. It feels full and alive. Finished almost all (horiz) content in the game and looking forward for the witcher island and Rowen continent, gotta get 15th ignea xD 2 things I want to see come are region merges and larger populated servers, and the API. 2 resets ago completely stopped bothering to prog G6 Brel cause of DC issues. Hope that starts to get fixed now.
That was back in spring or early summer, when the game was still rather new, when the only raids we had were Argos and Valtan and bots were the main drivers of inflation. Right now I think players are the main drivers of inflation. We have 4 Legion raids, a lot of people raid on up to 6 alts, they generate anywhere from 50k to 100k gold per week (some players might generate even more), and we also have the bussers who contribute to inflation. So I am not sure if this time we see a market crash, maybe some small and temporary drop in crystal prices but nothing much. What is more shocking about Lost Ark is that bots are literally over 2/3 of the game's population. There are far less real players than bots.
Half a year ago or so a youtuber, maybe cauttyh? Did the same thing you just did, showed the population of LA right before weekly reset, then how it took 2 days for it to recover to normal. The point was 300k players down to 100k then back up to 300k, means 100k real people 200k bots, 2 of every 3 people on LA are robots. I'm with you, hopefully they did something to keep the bots from coming back, but anyways this has been normal on weekly reset.
All I will say is that it's a good thing that bots are FINALLY gone or getting removed. It just felt like the game had no hope when you literally see 6 bots camping an area farming a story monster quest.
I don’t imagine everyone with a computer generated name is a bot, although it’s highly likely. I saw one in Punika the day after the ban. Unless this one bought a powerpass I can’t imagine it reaching Punika in one day.
Honestly I wouldn't get my hopes up. The bots always come back. Amazon needs to do weekly ban waves to really deter the bots and not every 3 months or so. Give it a week and the population will be right back up
Last night I got a question from a friend of mine, and is a really valid one. How do new players progress through the lower tiers with this low playerbase ?
Its not that hard, they changed so you level through tier1 and 2 faster, you get 2x levels everytime you hone and the gold + material requirement is heavly reduced. And once you get to tier 3, its very easy to just ask in general chat if someone can boost you in lower tier guardian raids and chaos dungeons are easy to solo or get boosted in. And its not hard to get a room in a Argos run either and Oreha is always free for Mokokos if they pass on the engraving book. The only hard part is to get enough gold for getting into a 4x3 or 5x3 engraving build. since the economy is not really friendly towards casual or new players.
they don't New players quit the game and shouldn't even start playing. Even if they manage to waste ~40-80 hours to get to 1415 they will get their ass gatekept by toxic community

The hardest part for a new player is getting a decent 5x3 engraving set, since if you are not 5x3 and got good stats and engraving. No end-game legion raid will pick you. Except maybe Rehersal.

Yep, bots and and RMTers allready did the damage to the game, even if they never would come back (what i highly doubt lol). AGS/SG now has to fix the market or bring the golden frog back atleast.
I give it less than a week. It won't change anything. They'd have to change fundamental things like you needing a sub or similar. They won't ever fix it.

Lost ark will be saved when they fix server, remove pheons, remove bots and revamp the shop prices and exchange rates, I would be willing to pay real money for this game, but not by being so predatory in the BS they offer at the moment...
Fix servers yeah. Although I have a hunch that they reworked EAC to detect and disconnect players using tools such as dps meter or other similar tools that gather game or player info as well. So this could be a player-caused issue as well, as during raids there are a lot of people who use dps meter. Removing pheons... well good luck with that. I support removing pheons for RNG items such as stone or bracelet, but I do not think they will remove them for accessories.
