There are well over hundreds of hours of Zappa that you can investigate. A lot of his live records have a similar type of vibe. This song is basically an a jam-out sequence. Shalom!
This is like the acoustic version of the live recording. I fucking love both. This is so good, complex, interesting, but also very chill compared to the live recording. I have been listening to both daily for a couple of weeks now.
"Don't know rather to stop myself from CRYING or just SCREAMING" Lov.e is the ANSWER to many, many of the PROBLEMS inside and out: I have just found another NEW ARTIST, who so intuned to spirit, you can HEAR in it this so-called "SONG", I feel so BLESSED to ran across, this, just about a half hour, ago ! Quietly hum the bass line and bop your head to Yussef's beat. Listen to the guitar phrases chiming in - almost wanting to tell you something, supported by Alfa's chords that lay the foundation of the tune. Enjoy, calm your mind and let yourself fall into a different universe.
I really don't even want to compare this and the live version as I feel like they are the same song in name only. Just totally different sonically imo.
I love this tune, but on the album version it sounds to me like everything is drowning in Alfa's keys and I feel compelled to push up the volume so I can hear the drums and the guitar. I wish everything was clearer and more in my face instead of swimming in so much reverb.
I want a 10-hour album full of this kind of music
