- Transcription of Mansur Brown's playing on "Love is the Message" by Alfa Mist with Yussef Dayes and Rocco Palladino from the Abbey Rd session. Mansur Brown played some beautiful melodies on this one, and his solo utilises some chromaticism and fast runs amidst melodic pentatonic playing. He uses a cool octave effect on his guitar. I tried to recreate this sound with the PitchFuzz algorithm on the Eventide H9. I could control how clean or fuzzy it sounded with an expression pedal while retaining the octave effect. I also used the Spacetime algorithm as a reverb and subtle delay with an expression pedal to control the dry/wet mix. He uses minor 9, diminished and fourth harmonic voicings to create harmonic movement. The melodic outro solo contains some long held notes with pitch octave fuzz on which kind of reminds of "Voice of the Soul' by Death, I wonder if he has heard this recording.

Thanks bro! Yeah theres a pitch up built into the Pitchfuzz algorithm on the Eventide H9 which i left on when i tapped on the pedal and then I was using the Expression pedal to increase the drive from 20 to 100 when I needed the gain for the solo and melody at the end. Have fun!

Hey, using a Dunlop DVP-3 and a Mission Engineering EP-1, but the H9 can calibrate to any expression pedal.
