  • Domed vault, unsupported masonry, Brick, Brickwork, Dome, Catalan vault, unsupported masonry. I built these two buildings in my garden. The Hobbit house with semicircular domed ceiling and pizza oven inside; and the gallery with a Catalan styled brick vault. Both vaults are built without formwork or any supports. They are both built with Hot mixed lime mortar. There is no cement.

    Saw the link on Andy’s ,bricklayers world wide Chanel . Top class work easily as good as the Mexican ones on here . The artist working in that studio only has to look up for inspiration. How many bricks approximately went in to it.

    It sure looked like the last of the roof getting close to horizontal needed some support?

    • @chrisrpennock1593
      @chrisrpennock1593  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was no support for the entire build. The building is 6x6m and has a span of 8.4m. The bricks alone weigh in total 8.5 tonnes. It is built with hot mixed lime mortar (no cement)
