    Much appreciated! But those looking to follow these instructions, be aware that it is NOT a Torx T4 needed to remove the 22 black screws, but a Torx T3. I confirmed this myself and the Torx T3 is what's listed on the iFixit teardown page for the Nexus 6. This caused me to purchase the incorrect tool kit and I had to re-purchase. Do not attempt to use an incorrect size or you will strip the screw heads and things get much, much more difficult!

      +Chase Parker I'm sorry man I don't know why it was that size on yours. For mine the T3 was too small and wanted to strip it out.

      Smart Easy Repair No worries! Your video was still a big help and my repair was a complete success thanks to it. Wonder if there was a revision behind this change somewhere...

      Mine was also T3. T3 and T4 were both included in my battery change kit. Both are junk so I just tossed them in the garbage. Go to a hardware store and buy quality tools.

    One of the few videos that explain how to connect the two ribbon cables on the power button side.

    Thanks. I was going mad with the ribbon connector. Didnt tell i had to flip up the white(ish) plastic part.

    Great video. Getting the parts separated was more difficult than it seemed in the video, but I knew it would be going in to it and I took my time and made sure I didn't damage anything. Phone is back to working order, thanks!

    Thanks so much! This worked for me. The steps are clear and complete. Connecting the button ribbon was a bit of a challenge, but it all appears to be working like a charm.

    "set it right down in there"
    "set it right down on there"
    "and then you set it right down in there"
    haha nice video though man. very in depth but still quick and to the point. Been considering buying a kit, replacement part and finally fixing my stupid lock button.

    My nexus 6 has glass, and I am sure it would break if I removed it. Thanx for the video, nice job.

    I figured out that you can simulate a power button press by shorting the center two of the 6 pins in the ribbon cable adapter near the "white line". Useful if you just need to get the phone turned back on so you can enable wake-on-volume-down in a custom rom.

    Hello that flex is the only problem with the power button or the button can't be damage? ( my button power work but I press to hard)

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I think it's the flex. The button can't go bad really unless maybe it gets worn inside.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +YouMustDie788 Mine came off pretty easy sounds like you need a stronger sim tool. Lol

      Smart Easy Repair It was just the one that came with the phone, I didn't manage to fix mine because I messed up 2 oft the screws, so I cant open it anymore..
      I'll just ask a repair shop to do it for me I guess

    • @Keklient
      @Keklient 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or I'll just have to live with a double tap to wake Rom and having to start my phone via ADB because my button is completely dead..

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah sorry that might be the best if you can live with it.
