@@giovannivannicelli No expert. Without doubt, his father, who supported him very much, by his sheer existence impeded his perception by the general public as a great violinist in his independent own right. He remained Prince Igor for his whole life.
The truth is that Igor Oistrakh was a Second-rated violinist! Mozart wrote do not make my kids average players! Igor Oistrakh was famous only because Great David Oistrakh was his dad!
You prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf lately :)
Everything is just perfect... Such a relaxed bowarm and bowhold. His phrasing is exquisite, I just can't put into more words how great this recording is!
This sounds so nerdy but he literally has the most relaxed wrist with his bowing. It's actually how I was taught to bow. It makes it so much easier on your hand when you can bow with a fluid wrist like that. Good tone and dynamics. Beautiful interpretation from him! Bravo!
Me too! I was taught not to move around except for any natural movement that would result from being relaxed with good posture and as a result of the necessary arm, wrist and finger movements. And there are many practical reasons for not moving around excessively - so not just because excessive movement is very annoying and distracting to watch.
>> surprising he is not more famous, like his father. @jan Snauwaert Maybe it is surprising. Or maybe not. Sometimes the effect is quite the opposite from what we might expect. For example, in the minds of the public the father's renown might overshadow the son's greatness, and people are thinking: "Well, he'll never equal his father, anyway, so never mind. We'd better look elsewhere." Or maybe they are thinking: "Well, the son is not really that great. He's just riding on his father's coattails. Hey, if were David Oistrakh's son, I'd be a much BETTER violinist than that Igor!" Or, maybe they want something "new and exciting," and they see the son as just "been there, done that." There is a lot of psychology involved, not all sound or valid, by far. But people are going to think what they think. And that's that. Very unfortunate and often unfair, but it's a fact of life, and a fact of show business.
Immenso semplicemente immenso. In Russia.
I grew up idolizing Igor as a violin player. The whole business of him being in the shadow of his father was simply an artifact of him living under the limitations of the soviet regime, and deciding not to leave the country. He was a brilliant violonist. It pains me that his wikipadia mentions that. He lived under an extremely limiting regime. Compare this with Heifetz and figure out the difference.
Proof that Igor Oistrakh was NOT a second tier violinist but a tremendous virtuoso.
Who says that he's a second tier violinist???

He has the same stance as his father giving the impression that the violin grew out of his body.

I love his speed and his accuracy….
This is so addictive
Best performance I ever heard.
This is one of the most glorious performances I've ever seen/heard.
It's been approximately one year after his death when I sent this comment. May you rest in peace, Igor Oistrakh. 🎻

One of the great bow-arms of the century
Just what I was thinking!
Even the sound of the tuning is a masterpiece
he s got talento plus discipline
I don't know why everything old is better than today
Except of me🙄
nostalgia, if we could go back in time, we wouldn't feel the same
since the only good thing about before is the initial feeling, wasn't it?

His legato is absolutely perfect
I never realised that Igor was so good. Wonderful playing, as good as anyone. Also no silly faces and dancing around like a clown.
Great virtuoso who was underestimated under the shadow of his father .
Agradecido de haber escuchado está recomendación
This is stylish what an unbelievable violin playing!
This was a superb rendition.
Bravoooo, fantastico que belleza esto es musica
Oh what wonderful playing! Technique, sensitivity, poise… it’s all there. Superb
I love that part when sounds like a Bird singing, Paganini was a Genius that only others genius can perform.
like father like son

I love violonists who don't do excessive body movements while playing.
Perfecto...!!!!! Algunos parecen bailar no tocar el violín....

Its ok to move a little, but not too much
fantastic performance!
Thank god i got this on my recomendations.
I'm very impressed that the footage still exists.
This man is obviously a maestro. Superb!! But listening to Jascha Heifetz you just sit back in literal awe.
Great performance!
Grandioso!!!!!!!!

Wow. My favorite version had been David Garrett’s. I like this one even more. Amazing.
Check out Leonid Logan’s performance. It’s on TH-cam and it’s amazing.

How by God (I am atheist) can there be such talented father and son, unbelieveble, soviet discipline helps as well of course...! !

I heard him live in Milan playing Ernst Last Rose without any effort
No shoulder rest.
i think he is garrett's inspiration of paganini
Paganini🖤
Wow❤
I know he stood out at the very first phrase.
his face at the end hahahhah
Lol who are those 4 violists who disliked???
Maybe these 4 can play better? Hahahaha 😂
And now there are 9 of them: what a growth rate of better then Oistrakh violine players! :-)))
Now 14
intonation to rival Heifetz and Kogan, and that is saying a lot
The videographer was obviously not a violinist.
Who is the pianist?
Natalii︠a︡ Zert︠s︡alova
Martha Algerich
Igor has absolutely his own music though his way of playing violin gets some shadow of his father, David.

Check IMSLP 😉
Niccolo Paganini "La Campanella" version by Fritz Kreisler
check Musescore or IMSLP
So you can potentially play it but cannot find sheets
