Thank you! This is a life saver I’ve literally been limping at work all week from the pain. I’ve bought foot massagers, so many heel inserts, tennis balls, foot stretchers. But the pain would be so bad that I’m the morning I’ve been walking on my toes or the side of my feet. This technique is everything!! Instantly felt relief! New subscriber!!!!
@@knockknock1246 I got the tape at Walmart I know target also sells it too. I do use it everyday. With the tape and stretches I am starting to notice it’s almost completely gone!
@@Nonsense-hw9hr Thanks for your reply. I will try the tape after stretches upon wakeup and wear it throughout the day. As the video shows the application and angles, I can tell it will help me immensely. Such an annoying little ailment. Are you wearing the tape during sleep? 🧐
@@Nonsense-hw9hr I see. I've been making a "sling" with my sheet a couple minutes before I sit up and massage for about two to three minutes on the foot with troubles. I know how it happened too. So it is your practice a daily removal and application of the tape in lieu of leaving it on four to five days, as it can be? I am trying the " cross legged "standing calf stretches done against the wall also. 👍 It was the entire foot but now it is only localized to the heel for me. I feel attacking it hard and soon as possible is best route for staving off long term issues with it. It's vexing isn't it? I would get a foot massage for an hour every morning while I was reading when living in Thailand. No issues just helped me study.. Four bucks. I'd give anything for that treatment again.. Good luck
I've had this issue for almost 2 years and didn't know it was a thing! Your method worked straight away! I'll see how it goes and try to report back. Thanks again!
I did the taping and YES - much better - much less discomfort! This second spur is worse and I feel that lump and some difficulty still, so they sent me for MRI, suspecting it might not be as simple an issue as last time. I will find out next week, and in the meantime, I am fine and getting my day's work done well - and second dose of Moderna today. LIFE! Thank you again!
seriously this is one of the few times ive taped something and had it feel completely better, while bearing all of my body weight, its crazy. Works better with rigid tape though at least in my case, there's just so much more support
Yes, rigid works better because there's no flexibility that's provided via stretching so it's a LOT more aggressive. The issue with using rigid, though, is a cover roll should be used with it to protect from skin damage, especially with removing as it's very strong adhesive. Also, they're not waterproof. But yes, it depends how aggressive the fix needs to be (how bad the injury), whether kinesiology tapes will suffice or if rigid aggression is better suited. I did read somewhere it may take 6wks - 6months to fix the pat pad damage, and it also be suggested the taping be left for 4 days, then one off. Replacing the tape daily is a lot of material, so naturally we'd want to use something more water resistent/waterproof to hold the adhesion. I used cover roll and leukotape for the fat pad under my kneecaps but cannot remember if I left them on for showers or not.... I'm trying to remember, because i sorely need to address both my heel pad pads and deciding between rigid or kinesiology/stretch for this very reason. 😂 But I think your comment has helped decide to yes, stay with rigid. Sometimes it isn't about convenience of application/replacing but actual effectiveness. 🤷♀️
Wow, I got a bruised heel from landing heavily yesterday and have some exercise this weekend I can’t avoid, and this feels amazing just walking around on it after doing this taping. Thank you so much, I really appreciate this video 😅
That white "first aid" tape. Sold in CVS and Walmart. Tape can be used also. The reason why people heel hurt is standing and walking alot , so when you are walking the heels always rub inside shoes or boots. To much rubbing causes nerve irritation. And swelling. Or calluses in some people. The white 1st aid tape has stronger glue. Duct tape will fall off. So then I found out the two tapes hold up: 1. First Aid white tape 2. Black Gorilla Tape
Hi. I’ve developed heel pain over the past 3 weeks. I see you have 2 videos & not sure which taping method to try. I’ve just taped it according to the other video but now see this and wonder? Are you able to clarify at all? Thanks for the video. I’ve used this tape before & it’s fabulous.
It's called kinesiology tape I buy it from amazon or ebay but ebay is usually better value. You can also buy spray to make it stick better from amazon. Kinesiology is the tape used by athletes, I use it all the time.
Hi Dan, a great video, I've just ordered some rocktape to try and get rid my heel pad pain. Question :- On some other videos about heel pad taping, they show the heel being completely covered in tape as apposed to leaving the heel pad bare......does it make a lot of difference ? ..thanks in advance.
Doc. My heel pain is almost gone. But my heel pad is getting bigger. Not really big but u could see the difference. A bit swell but no redness, no immense pain. Is that normal?
Masking and athletic tapes (ex: rockstar) are not the same. The athletic tapes have a stretchable feature and maneuver abilities that masking and duct tapes don't. It will affect your efforts differently; masking is more an ineffective method. I'm guessing the tape is also much wider.. It needs to be thinner to dictate the proper position and shaping of the heel fat pad, arch, etc If you're in a pinch, maybe give electrical tape a try. Leave about one inch of each ends unstretched, so it stays in place
Do wall stretches with you foot after soaking in as hot of water as you can handle. While stretching turn the foot that hurts foot inward while keeping it flat out hurts at first but if you feel a tight feeling in your calf then you need to loosen that ankle at the position and calf tightness to help relieve the pain. If you don’t feel your calf tighten then it can be that your upper leg and or butt/ back is tight. This helped me a lot and message not only your foot but your legs as well s as much as you can.

I don’t have pain in my heel or problem in the morning, only pain where the arch meets the heel
That’s a sign of plantar fasciitis. 1-location and 2-pain upon awakening

Does this help with plantar fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is more arch related. There's a video that shows how to tape for PF
I tried using masking tape and I still felt tremendous pain in heel area.

What is tape name and where can we get it
How long can I do this? Will it modify my foot or what?
this is the only thing that works
its really for heel fat pad syndrome, not PF, although fat pad syndrome is often misdiagnosed as PF
What is the name of tape and how can we buy this in Pakistan kindly reply me
It's kinesiology tape, you should be able to get it on amazon or cheaper on eBay, hope that helps 😉
works well
Where to get this tape
I’ve bought it at cvs or Walgreens
Pharmacy or online
Hmm, okay. I need it to heal and get better.
